The bill allows those protected by a protective order to carry a hidden handgun without a permit. The senate voted 32 to 8 to pass the bill tuesday. The house has already approved a similar bill. The legislation says people who are over the age of 21 and protected by a protective order could carry a firearm without a permit for 45 days after the order was issued. Virginias house of delegates approves a bill allowing schools to switch to a different one within the same district. The legislation would identify 12 under performing Public Schools and give students there the choice to transfer. Virginia Education Association president meg gruber hasnt formally taken a position on the bill but has practical concerns about it.
