A worker in the hospital Montgomery County firefighters worked for more than an hour to pull that worktory safety overnight. Megan mcgrath has more on the breaking news from the metro station. Megan. Well, guys, you can see the utility shaft behind me here. Its in a sidewalk along wisconsin avenue near elm street. Now, the worker was doing some overnight work in that shaft. He had gone down one ladder, had made it to a platform and was going down a second latter when he fell to the bottom of the shaft. So the area where he landed, its about 30 feet below ground. Emergency crews had to use ropes. Some other special apparatus to pull him out of this shaft. Now, he did have some serious injuries to his legs, to his back. He was feeling the effects of hypothermia. But were told that those injuries are not considered to be life threatening. He is expected to recover. Now, at this point, everything is back to normal. A little snow is in the forecast. No Winter Weather advisory in our area just yet. I fully expect the National Weather service to issue some form of a Winter Weather advisory before lunchtime today to get you ready for what could be flurries around here before the sun goes down and likely after this evening. Could get as much as an ch everybody but annapolis is below freezing this morning. We will stay very cold all day. It might start as either a flurry or a sprinkle of light rain. It will eventually change all over to light snow as we get into the evening hours and then coming to an end probably before 7 00 a. M. Tomorrow. But staying very chilly ask very cloudy through your friday. Ill give you the ten day in just a second. For now, though, talking snowfall amounts been here is sheena. And its all about timing as we go through the overnight hours tonight. And the thing that we all want to hear is it will be gone and out of here before the morning commute tomorrow. That is what it looks like. We will be watching the temperatures, though. Were expected to be right around freezing or below freezing in in spots. This will certainly be dependinging on when the snow will be falling at the same time. But, again, on untreated roadways, they could be an issue. Maybe slippery spots early this morning. 6 00 p. M. Early 9 00 p. M. , we expect snow showers around. And as we go into tomorrow morning, a lot of this is starting to wind down and come to an end. Farther south and around the district, less than an inch. So its not a big snowfall, but, again, its all about timing for the Early Morning rush. What you can expect, snow showers before 5 00 al tomorrow. Temperatures around freezing. Like i mentioned, some of the untreated roads. Thats what youre going to have to worry about with some slick spots. Lets get a check on the tenday forecast. She must have unpacked the cold air from her trick suitcase coming down from philadelphia. We are going to be very cold all the way through the weekend. Highs on saturday and sunday, likely to not get above freezing. A lot of clouds on saturday, maybe some flurries around here, as well. If you want to see snow this weekend, you might do better if you drive south out through the beaches and down through the carolinas. Back to average temperatures by next week. Lets go over to melissa l mollet. And chopper 4. Outer loop ott 95, we had a rob. They have cleared that to the lefou do have a bit of a back up there as you can see there top of the beltway. Westbound 450 ramp to the inner loop, we did not see a crash there when. Chopper 4 flew over, but something may still be hanging around.
