Late last night. The adult was shot just before midnight on stanton road near oxon run park. They say he was not badly hurt. Police have not released his name nor have they made any arrests. Its now 5 02. Today in baltimore the Six Police Officers charged with freddie grays death could have their trials moved. The officers are facing assault, manslaughter and murder charges for grays death back in april. Their lawyers believe they wont have a fair jury in the city. Theyre asking a judge to change where the trials will be located. Theyre expected to see more protests outside the courthouse with this hearing today. And police say they will be out there as well, but will not bring shields, helmets or riot gear. Today a judge in South Carolina will decide if a former officer accused of shooting a man during a traffic stop can post bail. Michael slager was indicted in the death of walter scott. Dawan graham is thankful his baby is okay after the baby stopped breathing. Last friday a 5monthold boy died after he stopped breathing. In both cases, the ambulances were too far away so fire trucks rushed them to the hospital. In that instance the paramedic and the ems supervisor acted in the best interest of the patient. D. C. Fire and ems said theyre aware of the problem and the number of 911 calls along with traffic is part of what leads to these delays. I changed my route to work. I drive further now. But i feel a little bit safer. And electronic billboards are flashing a shooting tips hotline number to drivers on i10. Today the flight 93 National Memorial in pennsylvania will honor the lives of those lost during the 9 11 attacks. The dedication will be held today at the new Visitors Center at the memorial. Police say firefighter Dennis Rodman was deliberately killed yesterday. He was helping to raise money for muscular dystrophy when he was struck by a truck. Police say he had a confrontation with a man in the truck and then the driver of the truck circled back and hit the firefighter. Well, you may have seen this popping up on your facebook feed. There are four million refugees who have poured out of syria because of the war. The conflict going on there. Another 7 million believed to be inside the country, but displaced. Its a lot of people, more than europe and the middle east can handle. And now the world is looking to the United States to lead this effort and to figure out what to do about this humanitarian crisis. Theres growing pressure on the Obama Administration to do something. We heard it from john mccain who said while the president talks about a moral obligation, as mccain put it, he s refused to act. Secretary of state john kerry said hes looking at admitting more refugees to the United States, expanding the number of refugees who can come here. Some like president ial candidate scott walker do not want to bring any of the refugees here. Also, theres security concerns because isis tried to infiltrate some of the refugees and get a free trip to the United States. Thats what the director of National Intelligence says hes concerned about. So clearly, some things that theyre trying to work through and work out. A plains clothes officer was pulled during the scuffle. The daughter of a woman killed in a car crash says she wants an apology from the man accused in her mothers death. Kenneth kelley has been charged for a crash in oxon hill that killed five people, including two mothers. According to the states attorney office, kelley was driving at more than 70 miles an hour when he slammed into the car. The blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit in maryland. New developments in the Corruption Case against Maureen Mcdonnell. Bob mcdonnell and his wife were both convicted of corruption last year and Maureen Mcdonnell knew exactly what she was doing when she accepted gifts and loans from businessman Johnny Williams while her husband was governor. Her lawyers are arguing the conviction should be thrown out because she was not aware of a federal corruption law. Breaking news coming out of south africa, where fossils were found representing at least 15 individuals in a remote cave chamber so narrow only a special team of very slender individuals could reach them. Theyre wanted in a series of robberies in d. C. , maryland and virginia. It started in late august. The fbi says they have hit six separate 7 11, hitting three within a few hours of each other. With guns, almost as if they were rehearsed or practiced. So rather than being a crime of desperation, these are these are more organized and more planned out. You can see in this video they enter the store with their guns out. In each of the robberies at least two men demand money from employees. Police are looking for the thieves stealing handicapped stickers out of parked cars at the morgan boulevard metro station. Just this week, metro confirms at least five weeks have been broken into. Someone told me that they steal them and sell them for like 50 each. I think thats despicable. Metro says this is a small percentage and crime in parking lots is trending downward. Today the American Civil Liberties union wants to know what you think about the relationship between police and the community in d. C. The group is holding a town hall at the florida Avenue Baptist Church starting at 6 30 tonight. Its one of several town halls being held by the aclu. Residents will be able to speak openly about policing in their community. This morning a man with a history of threatening to kill president s is in custody. Secret Service Agents found archie glass, jr. , outside the white house last month. He had been released from prison and that was a violation against his parole. He once sought to be the next john hinckley, Court Records show. A nonprofit says student need to learn more about the constitution and today theyre launching a National Constitution literacy campaign. Essentials in education is pushing for students to have a better understanding of the bill of rights and the declaration of independence. Fairfax county is just starting the school year, but next years budget is already a concern. The school board met with parents to explain the budget last night and asked for ideas on how to balance it. The county is predicting major shortfalls next year between 50 and 80 million. We know the next round of cuts would have potentially serious consequences for whats most important to us and thats the students in the schools and the classrooms. The national Highway Safety Administration Says that school buses are one of the safest forms of transportation in the u. S. But accidents do happen. On average, six School Age Children die in School Bus Crashes every year in this country. Police are searching for the man who beat a Good Samaritan and stole his car. Fairfax county police say the victim wanted to help a man who was asking for money near the vienna metro station on august 25th. The victim took the seemingly homeless man to his own house for a meal but he refused to eat and instead made comments about the victims wealth. That man refused to leave, ripped keys out of the ignition and pretended to throw them and he got back into the car and beat the victim. After he beat the victim, he then took the vehicle. Its still an active investigation. Police still trying to find the person who did this carjacking and theyre saying that it is okay to be generous. But use caution.
