Officers tell us they found one person hurt not far from wheeler road. D. C. Mayor and police chief say that repeat offenders are the commonality in murders. The mayor also wants tougher punishment. A woman accused of stabbing her roommate to death will be in court in Montgomery County, county police said she stabbed her roommate in the back last year. They said park practiced witchcraft and she then stabbed park with a large butcher knife. She will have a status hearing in the murder case today. City leaders in alexandria are doing away with a local tradition. The city voted to ban the flying of confederate flags in old town. The flags had been raised at confederate memorial day until may. Police still here some some five hours after the shooting. Look behind me, you can see several evidence markers. We counted at least 12 of them, possibly more. This could be shell casings were just not sure. The shooting happened at 12 30 this morning. Detectives have been out here all night long, working on collecting evidence. Officers got here and found a woman and would men with gunshot wounds. One of the men died here. The other man and woman were taken to the hospital in Critical Condition. What exactly happened and why, police say they just dont know. Were being kept back, as you can see, as you come back to the live picture, you can see, were being kept back quite a distance from where this happened. We dont know anything about the victims the this point and police tell us they have not made any arrests, they have no one in custody and still work on figuring out exactly what happened here. Mental illness, the times, the brain is not telling them the truth. We need to find resources in our community so that people can get the help that they need. A Mental Health expert telling us the woman who died at a Fairfax County Detention Center should never have been put in jail. Natasha mckenna died at the adult Reception Center back in february after deputies tased her while trying to put her in a declare. The Attorney Says no one is responsible for her death. Mckenna has had bipolar and schizophrenia. He said that she thought the deputies were attacking her, not trying to get her help. They are deputies who have never had an Excessive Force charge or any discipline against them. From what ive learned, theyre people who care deeply about inmates at the jail. Fairfax county sheriff has suspended the use of tasers since that incident. The department now says its reviewing its policies.
