Reporter thats right, eun, you know, its been a tough stretch for metro over the last ten months or so. This morning we expect a feisty debate from the metro board as they meet to talk about last months derailment. Remember, all of this happened because metro actually detected a problem, a track out of alignment near the smithsonian station in early july. About a month before the derailment actually happened. Metro conducted an investigation, found out that an employee mistakenly deleted the information that pointed to the track problem. Then in early august, the derailment happened. Luckily no one was on board the train when it derailed, no one hurt, but it pointed to serious safety questions and dont forget, metro also has track workers, walkers, who are supposed to find these kind of problems manually. Go in there and find them. So far, two people have stepped down from metro there. There are calls for the Board Chairman to step down. Well hear more about when they meet at 10 00 this morning. Thats where schools in one town are closed today after police say someone shot at a police car. The officer driving that car says a white man in a maroon pickup truck fired at him and drove away. A 20yearold man facing criminal charges after stabbing a police car. You can see the knife still in the suv. This happened yesterday in arizona. He said he stabbed the cruiser because he hates the police and wanted to send a message to everyone. Deputies spotted the man jumping on the hood of the sheriffs patrol car, holding a large butcher knife. He was arrested, no one was hurt. This happened aboard a metro train. Witnesses say metro riders jumped in to stop the woman as she tried to grab the 2yearold girl. A passenger who was sitting nearby and doesnt want to be named says one passenger tried to stop the woman and then others joined in. Heres how he described the moment he knew something was wrong. Out of nowhere i kind of see a baby in the air and the woman screams my baby, my baby. It was crazy. It happened really fast. It was surreal. You never think that somebody is going to steal a baby. When all of this happened. She was near the intersection of savannah drive and Woodway Police in woodbridge. She was headed to school, walking to the bus stop, when she got near a wooded area right near that intersection thats when a man exposed himself and made obscene gestures toward her. He did not come towards her, but certainly disturbing nevertheless. Police were called, they came to the area. They searched the wooded area where he was seen, but they did not find the man. Now, people who live in the area are asked to be alert, on guard for any suspicious activity to walk in groups if possible.
