Police say the chief was rear ended while he was stopped at the highway in stone ridge in centerville just before 9 00 last night. He had just left a Police Awards event. He was treated for minor injuries. The driver is being charged with dwi, but police have not released that persons name. Developing right now, two more Police Officers shot in the state of georgia. It has been a difficult week for Police Officers there. A number of them shot in this instance just about 90 mile from atlanta. This started as a we understand. This is cell phone video and then these officers were trying to arrest a suspect in a stolen car and police say that suspect opened fire, shooting both Police Officers. Now, the good news here, both of them are expected to survive, but in those other cases two Police Officers were killed. They were responding to a domestic dispute so a difficult time for Police Officers down there in georgia. Developing overnight, a bomb threat causing a flight to be diverted to new yorks jfk airport. It was headed from houston to frank further, germany overseas. The new York Port Authority saying that the threat was called into corporate headquarters. The plane was searched and nothing suspicious was found. Today the man accused of brutally murdering his next door neighbors will be sentenced. Their Adult Children found their bodies when they did not show up for a mothers day brunch. Montgomery county states attorney has asked the judge for a life sentence without parole. A hearing set for today in that case involving edgar welch, he is the man charged with firing that Assault Rifle last week. He remains in jail without bond. He faces charges including assault with a dangerous weapon. Were also learning new information about welch this morning. His parents saying he underwent a personality change after he hit a 13yearold boy with his car in october. They say he went the being energetic and outgoing to melancholy and quiet. No charges were filed in that particular crash. They went on to say that their son is loving and responsible, an affectionate father of two welch though since the shooting. They say the suspect drove up to a man who sat in his car near harmony Public Charter School in northeast and fired a gun. The man had just dropped off his girlfriend and her children or child rather, moments before at around 8 30 in the morning. After being hit in the arm he rushed inside the school for help. The mayor is now thanking teachers and staff for how they handled the shooting. The kids for the most part were in their classrooms and already getting started.
