Reports that he had sent messages using gay Online Dating sites and that he had been to the bar several times people had seen him in the place. The weapons he used he purchased legally a little over a week before the attack from a ft. Pierce gun store. Mateen was on a federal watch list. While under investigation for making comments about terrorist connections, if he had tried to buy a gun then, the fbi would have been notified, but take case had been closed so he wasnt he didnt need to be turned into them at that time. So the agents say that theyre confident he wasself rad ize through the internet and the attack appears to be homegrown terrorism. You mentioned president obama will be here on thursday. Eun. Agents are also looking into claims that he tried to communicate with some of the club patrons on the dating app grinder. An fbi official tells nbc news that they are looking into the claims, but they dont know what to make of them. We continue to learn more about the victims killed in that attack. For one mother, it was an agonizing 30 hour, she didnt know if her son escaped the gunfire, but late last night, she was notified that her son did not make it. He died on the floor of the club. Happening today, members of the house of representatives will receive a classified briefing on the orlando attack.
