Yet by giving a prison sentence you show if a public official goes wrong he will do jail time maybe not much but it sends a signal. So far i dont get a sense that a lot of people disagree with that. There will be some who think he should have gotten more. I think the thing is the judge thought he could get 10 to 12 and they went to recess and when he came back he got two. Whats interesting he took into account the 400 letters of support that mcdonnell got. The fact that hes a military vet, served 15 years in the military the fact that he was a public servant. So he put all of this into the mick and made some comments about the fact that these federal guidelines that say you have to have seven to eight years and hes not really comfortable with that. So i think the larger issue is if that can be applied to a former governor account it be applied to the regular joe that comes in if you dont like the federal stipulations of sentencing would you apply that to a normal person and i dont know that a judge would to that. So i think knocking down the sentence you mean like a special treatment thing for him . I think some could argue that. If you go from 10 to 12 to 2 and take into accou public service, some people might do that. Judge spencer has a reputation of being a fair and honest straight up kind of individual from vilks that ss ss ss ss individualk former governor mcdonnell should consider himself very lucky to be quite candid. Yeah. And i agree with dave. The message is sent. Youre going to do jail time. So the rest of you elected officials out here, if you get involved in this kind of thing, you will go to jail. For mayor bowser the new mayor, this is a chance if she can help shape a council that will put through legislation that she might support i think it will be very interesting. You have so much newness on the council and we see the city burgeoning and pushing out, all this new building. What direction will the council go and the type of leveragegislation thats coming through. Some is interesting. Some would call it very progressive in terms of a younger mind counsel and the things theyre trying to get through. Thl types of legislation that will be coming through council. Speaking of that, you have the squeak request clean members. The idea you play you pay. Those who contribute to your campaigns. It will be interesting to see if they follow through on that how squeaky clean they really are. We have a different constituency. We have a younger constituency in our city. It could be once again that council reflects the new constituency. There are all kinds of issues.
