A little bit of light rained drizzle well down to our south and west. Thats the leading edge of our milder weather thats going out tomorrow. But tomorrow its cold, teens and low 20s. Its going to be a chilly day today, temperatures in the 20s this morning, up into the low and mid 40s this afternoon, but clouds are coming back in for today, so chilly today, rain moving in tomorrow. More on that in a few. D. C. Police just confirmed another homicide in northwest washington and this comes as a suspicious death in the southeast, officers found a man dead on d street near ridge road, not far from the dupont ice rink. Its not clear if someone attacked him. These new cases come as police deal with a spike in homicide case this is year. There are now 24 homicides in d. C. Jackie benson explains that one of the latest cases happened near a group of children. Reporter Yellow Police tape and flashing lights are what children attended the Church Service on Antioch Church saw as they exited the building. Police would not let them turn the corner on g street in order to keep them from the sight of the bodies. Everything was roped off when we got here. And we didnt know exactly what happened, but to hear that two people died is very unfortunate. Gunshots were heard in the 49 00 block of lee street, the First Police Officers to arrive found the two victims on the ground. And at this time, we dont have very many details, we are going to go door to door and also ask for the publics assistance in this case. On thursday, two teenagers were killed in separate incidents in just a threehour period. Jonathan adams was stabbed at 5 00 p. M. At 8 30, 19yearold lakea dickenson was found on j street southeast. And arrest was made in connection with the death of the 17yearold, jonathan adams. Meantime, yesterday, d. C. Police chief Catherine Rainier testified about the homicide rate. Were going to hear more about the wild shooting of a Prince Georges County police officer. This started with a shooting on hill oaks road. Police say officers stopped a stolen car but the driver was holding something that looked like a gun. The officer did fire but it turns out a passenger in the car had already been shot. He went to the hospital. Officers are looking for the person that shot him. Police want to know how bullet holes ended up in the windshield of the officers cruiser. The democratic primary is one month from today. This is going to happen at the Josephine Butler center on 15th street northeast, it happens at 2 00 this afternoon, the candidates will address issues. D. C. Mayor vincent gray will have a busy day ahead. Before the forum, hes hosting an interfaith focus. The summit will happen at the First Congressional United Church of christ, thats on g street in northwest. It goes on from 9 00 until 1 00. Were staying on top of developments in ukraine. And a mississippi man can tell his story after being declared dead and being buried a alive. 78yearold Walter Williams was about to be embalmed when he started moving in the body bag. He was inside that bag, he started kicking, his family is calling this miracle. God wasnt ready for him to come home. The coroner said its possible that williams pacemaker stopped working and no one could detect his heart beat. After being found alive, rescuers took him to the hospital and hes expected to be okay. Right now thousands of californians are praying their homes are not swept away over the last 24 hours. About an inch fell every hour in southern california. In fact, meteorologists are saying california has even as much rain in the last few days as it did all of last year. This heavy front has caused massive mudslides and power outages. This is one Weather Channel reporter who was stuck in the mud there. That same system stranded two men and their dog on the usually dry los angeles river.
