As you mentioned within the last couple minutes, we got an update from the hospital, learning there are 27 patients still in the hospital, six of them in icu. With yellow tape still marking off the scene of sundays deadly mass shooting, thousands came out for an incredible show of support, gathering for the city vigil. I want everybody to know that the Lgbt Community will not be defeated. We will not give in to fear. Reporter overnight, Police Identified the 49th and final victim, and today hospital officials tell us everyone is expected to make a full recovery. Were also hearing from survivors. The coowner appeared on the today show to talk about sundays tragedy. She said she received a call from her manager screaming there was a gunman inside the club. He just kept saying, we have a shooter, we have a shooter. I just kept screaming, you know, what . Finally it sunk in. You cant wrap your brain around that. You just cant. As sarah mentioned, she says she opened the club as a tribute to her brother, who died of a. I. D. S. In way to keep her brothers spirit alive. Meanwhile, members of the house of representatives will get more information on the Orlando Attack later today. Fbi director james comey and Homeland Security secretary jeh jauns listen conduct a classified briefing on capitol hill. The briefing was requested by House Speaker paul ryan. Metro right now is looking into the derailment of a big piece of equipment in the safe track work zone. Metro says around midnight, a silverline train reported possibly hitting this machine. Investigators believe he shot the men over some kind of property dispute. A Montgomery County Police Officer is behind bars after trying to meet a juvenile for sex. Prince William County Police Arrested christopher dunkes and six other people after catching them soliciting sex online from people who they thought were minors. Officer dunkes has been suspended without pay. The 27yearold worked as a Patrol Officer in bethesda. He was first hired by the county back in 2014. The wife of omar mateen, the man suspected of killing 49 people at an orlando nightclub, says she tried to talk him according to nbc news pete williams, mateens wife drove him to the club on a prior occasion. Pete says authorities are considering filing criminal charges against her for failing to talk to them. 49 people and mateen were killed, more than 50 others hurt, including six who are still in critical condition. Doctors at the hospital where these people are being treated say its possible more of these victims could die. Thank you, kristen. The owner of the shooting center where omar mateen bought the gun is speaking out. He says mateen bought them within the last two weeks and passed the mandated background checks before he picked them up. An evil person came in here and legally purchased two firearms from us. And if he hadnt purchased them from us, im sure he would have gotten them from another local gun store in the area. Authorities say the guns were purchased legally, as you just atf agents conducted a compliance inspection on the business monday. The owner says he passed without any problems. The gun mateen used is an ar15. Its an assault weapon. Its been used repeatedly in Mass Shootings on u. S. Soil in recent years. While its the countrys most popular rifle, to critics its a weapon of war. To owners, theyre fun, versatile, and accurate. If they hadnt had an ar15, they would have found some other way. They were terrorists looking for people to kill as many people as they could before they went down themselves. From a Law Enforcement perspective, from somebody thats been a cop for 40 years, i think wed be safer if those kinds of weapons were not so readily available. The National Shooting Sports Foundation estimates the number of assault rifles in the u. S. Has soared to more than 8 million. Legislation to restrict gun sales have gone nowhere. Clubs in our area are reevaluating security due to the attack. A number of owners say they have cu prefer to keep them secret.
