He was hit by a car last week while he was riding his bike in waldorf. His parents are working to bring changes to the crosswalk where that accident happened. The first few minutes it was just like, come on, james, wake up. We just warranted him to wake u reporter but 10yearold he was on a sunday bike ride with his mom and friends. Im thankful that i did not actually see the accident itself, but i saw him in the middle of the road. Reporter it happened on the mcdaniel road. He was riding in the crosswalk. The driver apparently didnt see him. He suffered a traumatic brain injury. My official thing was that he was going to be okay. He maybe may be in the hospital for a while because stuff like that doesnt happen. Reporter but it did. If they can prove she was on her phone or if they can prove she was driving too fast, if they can prove something, then i would have definitely wanted to see charges filed. It involved a young woman gunned down in the parking lot of a target store in germantown. Her exboyfriend pleaded guilty. Today was supposed to be sentencing day. Meagan fitzgerald is at the courthouse to explain why her family left the courthouse feeling very pleaded guilty to a judge. He admitted on two different occasions that he shot and killed his exgirlfriend, but because he filed a motion today, the judge, hes asking to reverse his guilty plea. Were trying to find closure. It looks like we can never get that right now. Reporter closure was supposed to come today for the family and friends of the 24yearold woman. She was gunned down in the parking lot of a germantown target in june. It was her jealous exboyfriend who admitted to pulling the trigger. News 4 obtained videos of investigators interviewing bricker in his hospital room shortly after the murder. I shot her and then i shot her again. I just pointed it and shot her. But why . Why did it shoot her . Uhhuh. I dont know. Reporter police say bricker confessed twice over the last before a judge in december. Today he was supposed to be sentenced, but instead he fired his attorney and is asking the judge to withdraw his guilty plea. He says he didnt get all the information to make his best decision in making a plea. I dont like the feeling. Im going through this. It hurts. Reporter its a scenario the friends and family say theyre praying wont happen. Just taking it day by day and just praying. Reporter now bricker will appear in court on may 5th.
