Reporter this is video of teenaged girls in a fight outside of Mckinley Middle School monday. One of the girls destiny says she was jumped by five others. Destiny is 14 years old, and this morning, she was suspended for ten days because of fighting. This morning she says she hit a girl who had attacked her on monday after the girl threatened her inside of the school. She was said that, i hit her in the face, and we started fighting again. Reporter with the permission of her father, she telling us how she was jum and beaten monday. One of the girls videotape the incident and posted it on instagram. And another one jumped in, and another one kicking my head an pulling it. And at that point, i pulled back. Reporter and she says a man came along to rescue. A man driving by, and he got all of them off me, and he asked me if i was okay, and he said, are you okay . And i told him, yeah. Reporter the School Officials would not comment on this case, but the school has group mediation, counseling and conflict resolution programs here to curtail fights among students. A couple of miles away, the female suspect got hit by the minivan that kept going, and the officers took the male suspect, Ronald Souers into custody. And police say that the victim was pushed to the ground and the girlfriend assaulted her. She was identified as nicole hitandrun. And Jennifer Marshall created this production and diagnosed with bipolar disorder after the first child, and she wanted to offer children with different forms of Mental Illness a way to share their story through music and poetry and story telling. When you do have the courage to really share things like that, that you think are buried deep within you sh, eventually someb is going to be able to relate to it. And there was a 31 jump in the number of homeless families, and it is explained ta d. C. Is the only jurs disdiction that peopl cannot be turned away from a shelter in cold weather, and families are never turned away. And while d. C. Has a requirem t requirement, it is rare ly reresulting in turning away families. Especially in the right to shelter we cannot say that there is no space, and we cannot provide ta for you, and so in other jurisdictions, that is not the policy. And there is more numbers than meets the eye. What that doesntle the you is the number of people that it is preventing you the access permanent housing. D. C. Now has more homeless residents placed in permanent house than in shelters. And one more statistic to count is that more than one thir of the onethird of the regions homeless are children.
