Theyll return tomorrow to deliberate for a third day. John hinckleys lawyers in federal court in d. C. Theyre asking for his permanent release from street elizabeths hospital. They argued that hes been in full and stable remission for decades. They want the judge to let him live in williamsburg. He shot and killed him 34 years ago. The jurors found him not guilty by reason of insanity. Hinckley is currently allowed to spend 17 days a month in williamburg. Prosecutors oppose the release saying he has a history of deceptive behavior. Prince William County will be expanding the the budget. It includes money for 25 new Police Officers 23 firefighters and two sheriffs deputies. The county will bring in six additional emergency dispaaschers and up to find hundred Police Officers will be equipped with cameras. Efforts to make changes. City official broke ground on the brightwood housing complex. Crews will create 140 new affordable apartments. A Prince Georges CountyPolice Officer stands trial for beating a juvenile while handcuffed and in a jai right now at 5 30, a man accused of killing his weve at a maryland Dunkin Donuts may have fled the state. We have new information about that murder and where Police Believe that suspect is hiding. Right now we have a local Police Officer on trial accused of hitting a teenager. Prince georges county bureau chief Tracey Wilkins just came out to update us. Reporter they have recessed until tomorrow. The defense will pick up and well hear more witnesses who will say what this officer did was justified. What the state is saying, and what some of his fellow officer are saying as well is that this teenager was has not cuffed inside a cell. He was screaming and being blig reynold but inside a cell and there was no reason for the officer to enter the cell and hit the teen. This is what we understand happened. The video has not been released. They did play it in court and this is how the defense described it. They stay officer entered the cell. He then strikes the teenager with what is called an open hand strike to the face. The detained teen kicks the officer. The officer hits the teen with a closed fist to the face. And then the cop pushes the teenagers head into the bench. Now, this all happen after this kid was picked up for evidently allegedly destruction of property and again was being difficult. He is a key part of the investigation because as the driver he has primary responsibility for grays safety during transport. In an interview, the Police Commissioner suggested the officers involved in handling gray had the right intention. I think the officers what ive been told now, had intentions to take him to the hospital. At that time i expect them to get a paramedic there. I dont know how someone injured to that extent could have asked for medical attention from another human being and not been given medical attention. There are multiple video cameras where he was stopped a second time so his legs could be shackled. Images could be critical as a witness reports he was thrown in the van. But no video has yet been provided. The department is reviewing all the cameras that are anywhere in that vicinity. And as we find any more footage that tell the story of what happened to mr.
