They were called to maryland live casino. It was about 80 degrees outside but inside that parking garage above the Casino Police say it was much hotter and that is where they found the 98yearold woman. This is an issue that we are seeing recently with people leaving pets and kids and now vulnerable adults inside a car because they think it is okay. It is not okay. Reporter police got the call from someone walking through the garage and noticed the elderly woman alone. This is an egregious situation that we dont encounter too often but once is too much. Reporter the 98yearold woman sat alone in the hot truck for nearly five hours with no food, no water and no way to go to the bathroom or even get out of the truck. She was not in the position to take care of herself. She is also wheelchair bound. While his mother sat helpless in the hot truck police say her son 67yearold Dwight Mcginnis jr. C. s department of health made us aware of alarming numbers. He says the agency has confirmed the deaths of six babies over the last two weeks and that is double the amount of infant deaths the district normally experiences during that time. Of the six deaths two are believed due to sudden infant death syndrome. Two are believed due to complications of premature birth and two remain under investigation. These are preventable deaths. When a baby dies from a genetic disease that is something that we cannot prevent but prematurity and sudden infant death which are significant especially in the d. C.
