This is still very much an active scene in fayetteville. While the fire is out, this is what investigator have been waiting for, for the sun to come up, so that way they can get a lock at the daylight, and what is happening here inside this home. When firefighters arrived to the home, they saw heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof. One body was found inside of the home. Another person was treated by,ms for smoke inhalation here on the scene. We do also know that three dogs were found inside of the home that did not make it as a result of this fire. The bypass coming in from hodge road right now that trip from the i40 interchange around to the taking about 26 minutes. Really slowing down through there. We are also getting word of an accident on the eastbound side of 440. East raleigh kind of a mess this morning. If youre coming in from garner or if youre coming in from the knight dale bypass interchange, you might want to take 440 down to i40 westbound through the south side of raleigh. Right now at least were in pretty good shape through there. Elsewhere in the triangle, look out for a crash whisper road as its now called. Theres a public hearing in durham tonight over a proposed new historic designation, a designation that has the Durham Rescue Mission concerned. The rescue mission wants its 20 to be exempt from historic requirements. They believe those lot should be preserved for affordable housing. Those in favor of the project say they also support affordable housing, but they say the rescue mission has in the clearly stated how district will be a detriment. Brian is here with a look at is that another accident . Yes. We have a big mess building in south raleigh. 7 33. Well take you to the camera at i40 at ham monday road. The left lane blocked with a 3 car accident. Looks like a minor crash, and still waiting on police to got on the san. There this is 40 westbound at hammond road right there in zone. We dont really have a break down lane or any shoulders to work with. Its going to take a little while to get that cleared. With only 3 lanes available in the work zone, having one of those taken up with that accident is really going to cause some big back ups. Already starting to see delays build through garner. 18 minutes from 42 to the belt line split. And that stretch of 40 westbound on the south side of raleigh, were up to 19 minutes with most of those delays between 440 and ham monday road as they cleared up. That number, i think, is probably going to increase greatly, as will that garner number. If you can get beyond all of that because all that traffic is backed up, a smooth ride through west raleigh from wade avenue to 040. Youre looking at about 6 minutes. Another accident, this one is on the eastern side of wake county. This is 264, the bypass westbound at smithville road. That left lane is blocked as they get an accident cleared were seeing significant delays copping in from 540 headed toward 440. And contributing to those delays on the night dale bypass westbound, we have some slowdowns on 440 westbound all because of an earlier crash on 440 west at wake forest. Its in the median, but those back ups begin all the way around slow from there all the way up to capital and wake forest. Because of those back ups, were seeing some ramp delays now on the westbound wake forest. S a 98 is heavy. Had an earlier crash at that interchange. Overall major routes are in pretty good shape. Of all of all suicide deaths, 18 of those who die by suicide are veterans. So we are just very, ve i do want to say that 65 of those are over the age of 50. We also have to be really worried and court and thinking about our older veterans. Eighteen percent is obviously extremely scary number. What from the warning signs that a veteran may be considering suicide . System of the things to watch are for are changes in mood or behavior, is a veteran drinking more. Is your veteran or loved one sleeping more or loss talking about feelings of hopelessness. Are they feeling talking about feelings like life isnt worth living. For the many people who have veterans in their family, whack be done to help a veteran who may be struck lung before they reach that crisis point . You know, thats what our campaign be there is all about. Whack be done is just really kdkaing with the veteran or that loved one in your life, either through asking them to take a walk or asking people out for coffee. The system sitting out there, spunking. While that would take it on overhere toward the cost of new jersey, once it gets a little closer, it spins, hads back off to the north and east. I know fox here across parts of, you know, new york and up into nugget, were just wishing it would go away close to new jersey for the labor day weekend. That storm. Weve been pretty lucky it moved on out. Now, before you freak out, this is actually not current. This is a look at hurricane fran. And, yes, this morning 20 years ago, we were tracking this storm on the radar, dumping lot of heavy rain, strong gusting winds, tries down. Those of you who were here during hurricane fran, those were some times that know you wont forget. One of the deadlyst and in our history, especially since it came right across the area. We are still in the peak of the hurricane season. But again, 20 years ago, i know a lot of folks remember that. Weve nice quiet weather in our forecast all the way in the weekend. It is going to be hot. Look at that. 95 on thursday and friday. That is 10 degrees above normal, which is 85. Were close to the record, probably not going to hit stays dry. Dry into the weekend as well. Nothing really showing up on that forecast for precipitation through saturday. We do see some to our north and west. Later in the weekend to early next week, another front comes in. That should drop our temperatures, bring us a little better chance of rain. Im hoping, brian, this is maybe summers last hoorah. Cant promise thats the case, but thats a pretty one little last taste of misery before fall gets here. 7 48. Lets take a look at the big mess we raleigh. This is 40 westbound at ham monday road. We have a crash thats blocking the left lane there. So we only have 2 of our 3 lanes open right in that area. Were seeing the big delays. Through garner, first of all, its going to tack you 26 minutes to get 42 to the belt line split. Then another 25 minutes from 440 out to wade avenue on the west side of raleigh. And almost all of those delays on 40 westbound are confined to the area just road. If you can peck up 40 west, its a smooth ride from there toward the interchange and beyond. Something you want to keep in mind. If youre coming in from garner and can take business 70, pick up i40 from there, youll be in good shape heading on out to the airport and rpc. Take a look at that. Taking just 6 minutes. Typically, we would suggest 440 westbound as and alternate route for you. Take a look at those drive times, from i40 in Southeast Raleigh around to the wade i40 merge. Thats taking you about so thats not a good option for you this morning. Lets take a look at the live commute map around the triangle. We still have delays on 440 westbound from that earlier crash out at wake forest road, and also delays on the east side of raleigh, outside the night dale area. This is night dale boulevard westbound at smith field road. Theres a crash blocking the left lane there. Very slow traffic coming from i 40 toward 440 this morning. Allow some extra time.
