And this morning on action news at noon, is the investigation into two Philadelphia Police officers therk are arrested this morning charged with assault. The alleged beating of a suspect was all caught on surveillance video. David henry is live now at the District Attorneys Office with the full details. Reporter hi sara, unfortunately its one of those cases that erodes the Publics Trust in the police force and could have could have led to a miscarriage of justice and its a case that outrages commissioner ramsey. Im not trying to justify it its totally improper and in violation of any policy or training or anything. Period. Police officers Kevin Robertson and Sean Mcknight is charged with filing false reports it stems from this incident in 2013 captured on surveillance. He ran from the police without sirens or lights flashing and the patrol car could be seen running down the scooter and running rivera to the ground and the officers get out of car and beat him with his batons and fist. They arrested rivera and charged him with multiple charges including resisting arrest. What they didnt know was that rivera girlfriend went and found the surveillance cameras and then the charges were dropped. Seth williams says its video was clear and compelling evidence. He never resisted or struck them or fought back, they just started hitting him. One held him against the wall while one beat him with a batson and then they held him on the ground and beat him some more. Rivera file aid civil lawsuit in court and is asking a settlement from the city a costly settlement for the city but even bigger is the erosion in confidence in the police force.
