61 degrees in reading. 60 in trenton, 64 in wilmington. Were at 70 down the shore in cape may. Dewpoints still low. Most of us in the 50s. A couple of spots down south in the mid 60s. So, its moderately humid there but overall it looks like another nice day. 67 degrees by 7 oclock for those of you out for a run and then as you plan the next 12 hours, it gets warm. 76 degrees by 10 00, 82 degrees by noon. And 86 by 3 oclock with a high of 87 at about 4 oclock. By dinnertime probably back down into the mid 80s in philadelphia. Matt pelman weve got an uptick in humid and temperatures over the next couple of days. Well have that story, starter talking about the weekend and the tropics. Thats all ahead. We can always talk about the weekend. Good morning, david. Were waiting on an uptick in the speeds along 422. What a mess its been since before midnight. Thats when a vehicle ran off the eastbound lanes approaching oaks. That caused a closure of 422 eastbound here at 29. The phoenixvillecollegeville interchange. Well, just as soon as they liftd that closure just about a half hour or so ago, there was a second accident just out of view on 422 eastbound approaching phoenixville and collegeville. Looks like that accident is being pushed off to the side but youre still seeing significant delays coming east of limerick on 422 at this point. Once again you might want to head for ridge pike or 23. 422 eastbound remains jammed. On the pennsylvania turnpike westbound past malvern overnight construction taking out the right lane. And there was an overnight crash that brought down a pole and wires involving a penndot truck. Were hearing that truck is out of there now but in whitpain township north wales road still closed at yost road. You can stick with 202 or Whitehall Road to get around that and theres a water main break in norristown by joes getty blocking johnson highway at arch street. Germantown pike or for nance street are alternates around that. Also have an Early Morning motorcycle crash in upper dublin close to the turnpike. Avoid second hasnt road at limekiln pike on this wednesday. Matt. Now an action news exclusive. Viewers informed of us what they call a tow trap in south philadelphia. They say the tow company uses bait trucks and hidden sciences to lure drivers into their scheme. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott is live at broad and alter streets where dozens of car owners fell victim. Katherine. Reporter matt and so far the together company has not responded to the allegations but a lot of people around here think that this is a trap. They believe that theyre led to believe that they can park here and then the together company reaps a reward. I feel like it was a bait. Reporter photos show when katie parked on south broad near alter monday evening, the tow sign had been knocked down and she never saw it. Hours later, when she returned, the sign was up and her car was towed. There were other cars parked there. There was no sign in the lot. There was no indication that where i was parking was illegal. It strikes me as very dishonest. Shes not alone. Adam mallet sent this picture of him trying to stop his car from being towed from the same spot. He says again, no sign. Chris norman made dozens of his own recordings. Hes moving this truck that they parked there so they could now tow the mercedes. All day long. The sign lays down, somebody pulls up and parks you would the sign is back up again, car gets towed. Sign goes back down again, it happens over and over. Reporter the only parking related city signs nearby refer to street cleaning on fridays. The curb does drop for part of the area in front of the chain linked fence but the paint is largely stripped away. Action news went to george smith together office for comment. The men at the window had not heard of the allegations and Contact Information was left for the manager. George smith together is not accredited by the Better Business bureau which gave it an f. No. I got two kids. I dont have time for this. Were kind of out of that demographic. Yeah. Bought my kid a new cell phone for college though. One of the first things he did was download pokemon go. I was like dont do that in your suite. Storm tracker6 live double scan what do we got . Nothing showing out there right now. As we take a look outside clear skies building over the airport and you can see the skies brightening. Were going to see plenty of sunshine again today and well add a few degrees to the thermometer later this afternoon. 68 right now in philadelphia, comfortable as you head out the door and get moving. 57 cool and almost want to say chilly degrees up in allentown. 61 in reading currently. 60 in trenton. 64 in wilmington. 70 down the shore in cape may and satellite shows you the need for sunglasses a little bit later this morning as we have very little cloud cover out there once again. Were looking at mostly sunny skies up in the Lehigh Valley. A high of 87 this afternoon. Warm, not all that humid. Down the shore great beach day today with a high of 82 and most shore destinations ocean temperature running in the 70s. Youll need your screen, sunscreen, your shades and swim near the lifeguards but other than that, pretty good conditions at the shore. Low rick of rip currents too today. Mostly sunny and very warm in philadelphia with a high of 87 degrees. Winds out of the southwest at six to 12 miles per hour. And then overnight tonight 68. Not quite as cool as the last couple of nights but still mainly clear and fairly comfortable. That southwest wind though will start to up the humidity a bit as we go through the day on thursday. In fact here it is. Not only does the humidity rise a little bit but the temperatures will also climb little higher to 89 degrees. Now, late in the day this cold front is going to be coming from the west and there could be a rumble of thunder late in the day or in the nighttime period north and west of philadelphia. Then on friday, that front gets ready to pop on through. Its not real strong but it will increase the humidity and the heat on friday and give us a better chance of a couple of spotty storms. Down to the tropics we go. Couple of things to talk about. The first is this tropical wave which is getting closer to puerto rico. Has a 5050 channel of developing into a Tropical Storm. And of course we already have Tropical Storm gaston out to the west. This is the first feature were talking about. It could be a Tropical Storm even if it is and it does look like the path of the related low pressure system will come through the bahamas and into early monday morning and it might cross over into southern florida. If it is a Tropical Storm, it would have storm surge and, you know, potentially damaging winds. If it does not produce Tropical Storm parameters it would still dump a lot of rain in through these areas. Thats something to watch later in the weekend and early next week. Gaston looks like a stronger storm perhaps growing to a category two hurricane. Looks like it wants to cut up into the central atlantic and not be an issue for us. Your sevenday forecast, today 87, sunny, warmer, not all that humid. Tomorrow partly sunny, a bit stickier, 89 degrees and then hot and humid on friday with a high of 93, probably feeling more like 100 and that weak front could trigger a late day or evening spotty thunderstorm in a couple places. On saturday and sunday because its a weak front the temperature doesnt really fall back all that much. Were still going for highs in the low 90s but it wont be as humid just moderately humid over the weekend and then monday another spike in humidity. Sultry with a high of 92 and a thunderstorm possible on monday p. That does look like heat wave number six. Okay. Well be ready. 6 11 now. And gas station shootout. A camera catches gunmen exchanging fire and a passenger in a car is hit. Now you can burn rubber but go easy on the gas. Theres an electric car that reaches speeds as fast as a ferrari. Matt. Things look pretty good so far this morning, tam, here along woodhaven road. The sign inspectors return during the midday to block lanes today starting at 9 oclock. But right now were moving fine. Same is not true on 422 where theres still a crash. Well talk about that when action news continues on this wednesday morning. Whats that . a bird . No, its gus, the second most famous groundhog in pennsylvania have no fear, wonder gus is here wonder bucks whaaa. Taking a a live look down the shore into atlantic city. Lovely wednesday morning for you, 6 14, 68 degrees getting up to 86 later today. What we got out there in terms of problems, matt . Well, perhaps this morning youre going to wake up and have a waffle for National Waffle day. Then youll hit the schuylkill expressway and youre only problem at this point on the eastbound side of 76 is some building volume hereby conshohocken. During the midday your problem will be the storm Drain Cleaners. Yes, theyre going to be outer and about once again today in the eastbound lanes between this point at conshohocken on into city avenue. So you can see delays. You will see delays starting at 9 00 this morning because of them. Right now its just some volume building on 76 eastbound. Now on 76 the pennsylvania turnpike westbound past malvern our overnight construction has cleared out of the way so cross that one off the list. Unfortunately though on 422 were still dealing with that second accident of the morning. Its blocking the right lane eastbound approaching 29 and wow are we ever seeing a delay now coming eastbound from limerick its a solid line of traffic. A standstill into collegeville. You really want to avoid the eastbound side of 422 still this morning. Stick with ridge pike on through norristown or else 724 on the other side. They would be much better bets. Speaking of 724, theyre going the start tearing it up tonight. New milling and paving project gets under way along 724 at 7 00 this evening. Basically between the berks county line and the coventry mall so overnight tonight i would stick with 422. Right now i would not do that. Have a motorcycle crash to watch out for in up are dublin along susquehanna road at limekiln pike. Emergency crews are on the scene. Crews have finished patching the water main break on Bustleton Pike we were dealing with all day yesterday. In order to prevent such things, sometimes they do pipe replacement. We have a couple spots where theyll be doing today. Bristol road will close in upper southampton and galloway road closing at 9 oclock this morning in bensalem. Matt. Thanks matt. A camera catches a gas station shootout in atlanta with a woman getting caught in the crossfire. It started with an altercation between the driver of a black Dodge Charger and another man. Little warmer today, yeah. Still not that was humid. Storm tracker6 live double scan shows us that we are dry this morning. Taking a look outside lots of sun up over the horizon, pretty picture along the Commodore Barry bridge there in chester and bright sunshine obvious in this picture. 68 degrees is your current temperature in philadelphia. Your dewpoint has crept up to 60 but thats still really just borderline humid so not bad. Winds out of the southwest at 5 miles per hour. And satellite obviously shows that you theres no cloud cover anywhere near us. Its on the other side of pittsburgh and we might get a little bit of fair weather cumulus later today but were still looking at a mostly sunny day just like the last couple. 69 degrees and comfortable by 8 oclock. By 10 oclock, 76. Still not too bad for your morning errands and what have you. 82 degrees by noon. It will get warm this afternoon. 3 oclocks temperatures 86 and well see that 87degree high around 4 oclock this afternoon. So, not that humid but warm enough for cool drinks if youre going to be out there exerting yourself. 87 is the high in allentown and pretty much the same story in trenton, reading, wilmington. Millville not quite as bad and then 80 degrees in cape may. Closer look at the shore shows a lot of 82s and 81s from surf city down to ocean city. Mostly sunny, a great beach day, low risk of rip currents. Swim near the lifeguards bring the sunscreen and shades and youre in great shape. Looks like about 80 from sea isle to cape may and low 80s on our delaware beaches. Tomorrow things get a little bit stickier as a cold front comes in from the west. We get a continued flow out of the south that raises the humidity a bit and well also bump that High Temperature up to about 89 degrees. Plus late in the day or at night there could be a rumble of thunder in our northern and western suburbs from that front. By friday the fronts rolling through. Its hot and humid and a little better chance of a couple of thunderstorms around on friday. Tropical situation. We got two areas of concern. The first is this area of tropical low pressure that might develop into a Tropical Storm. Theres about a 5050 chance right now. The other is Tropical Storm gaston which is strengthening. As for this guy, if it does become a Tropical Storm it does look like toward the end of the week and into early monday it will be cutting through the bahamas end the weekend i should say into monday. It will cut through the bahamas and then probably go into southern florida in all likelihood. If its not a Tropical Storm it will still produce a lot of rain and some wind, Tropical Storm or some sort of tropical feature of course would produce damaging winds and maybe some storm surge so thats an area to watch but again only about a 5050 chance that it actually becomes a tropical feature. Tropical storm gaston in the meantime looks like its quickly going to become a hurricane later today, probably go a category two bullet it still looks like it wants to cut up into the northern atlantic and have minimal impact on population centers. Your forecast today 87 sunny warmer not that humid. 89 a bit stickier tomorrow and then hot and humid on friday with a high of 93 degrees and theres a chance of a at least spotty shower or thunderstorm around on friday afternoon or evening. And then behind that front its not as humid for the weekend but still hot with highs in the low 90s. Sticky on monday, 92. A thunderstorm there. And yup, that does look like if we can hold those numbers heat wave number six. Wow. Yeah. Something to look forward to. Thank you david. Its 6 40 and somethings fishy going on at the jersey shore. A fish kill is making a big stink. Well tell you the theory lined the dieoff. Later it could become a new trend in america schools. Well talk about why when action news continues on this wednesday morning. 6 43. Sun coming up, shining on the delaware river. 68 degrees right now. Getting about 86 a little warmer than yesterday but humidity still staying in check. All right. Lets head on over to matt pelman take a look at your commute. Good morning. The next couple of days so you cant use girard avenue by 95. Lets see if we have that yeah, 76 camera up now westbound side here by city avenue, normal morning volume really kicking in and you can see whats resulting, a big old jam from past the roosevelt boulevard on out to gladwyne. Hey, again the storm Drain Cleaners are going to be out today on the eastbound side between conshohocken and this point at city avenue so starting at 9 00 they will definitely slow you down. And weve seen big slowdowns this morning along 422 eastbound. Were hearing now that the most recent accident, thats the one eastbound approaching 29, has been pushed off to the side but still some single digit speeds coming east of sanatoga. Again i really think i would use ridge pike as an alternate or else 724 as another alternate. 422 eastbound is still a mess even though that crash is gone. Overnight crash brought down a pole and wires in whitpain township so north wales road still blocked at yost road. Stick with 202 or else Whitehall Road as alternates. And in norristown johnson highway remains blocked at arch street because of a water main break. Germantown pike or else fornance street are alternates around that. Uner dublin motorcycle crash blocking susquehanna road at limekiln pike so that too is a spot to steer clear of. Tam. Thank you, matt.
