Have karen rogers who is still allowed to to be inside. While its cold dress appropriately its not too bad. Satellite shows you there is some cloud cover offer to the west of us. Its started to get closer. I think theres a chance we squeeze in a little bit of early sunshine before the clouds starter to get thicker and then through the day well see increasing clouds. Temperature right now has dipped to 30 degrees in philadelphia, 27 in wilmington. 29 in allentown and 28 in wildwood. But the winds as i mentioned not all that strong this morning. And as we heads out to catch the bus over the next couple of hours, 30 by 7 oclock and 31 by 8 oclock. Mainly clear and chilly but not as windy as its been recently. And remember to read all those pages. See how those numbers are getting bigger on the blackboard now. Thats because were getting later through the school year. 31 degrees by 8 oclock, forty degrees by noon and by 3 oclock, on the way home from school 44 degrees, not too bad and increasing clouds. Guys, we do have an increase in cloud cover again tomorrow and there will be some snow and rain arriving and we might even get some accumulation involved. Ill have the latest thon from accuweather coming up with the full forecast, karen. All right, dave. Im getting more details on this accident on the blue route northbound. We can still see police up ahead. Blue route northbound past the schuylkill, an accident involving a pedestrian and police say that pedestrian was transported to a hospital but no word on why someone was out there Walking Around on the blue route. Was his car disabled . Were not seeing a disabled vehicle right here at this point. So something that were still developing right here but we had police, a number of them. We had two ambulances, we had penndot all on the scene. They were blocking the left lane. They have left the scene but we still see police up here just blocking the right shoulder. Earlier i showed i was jamup on the blue route northbound because of those lane restrictions. Now traffic is moving fine here with this accident scene off to the right shoulder but something to watch there. Weve got a new problem its a vehicle going on right now not that far off from the problem on the blue route. This is murray drive at louis road. This is just coming in near king of prussia so watch for this vehicle fire happening right now. As we look at the big picture were not seeing other problems out there at this point. We do have that gas leak that matt and tam have been talking about so snyder avenue you may still see some restrictions between broad street and 13th street. You can just stick to jackson street until all the crews leave the scene at this point matt. Thank you karen. Lets continue our coverage of that incident. Residents had to evacuate six homes in south philadelphia due to a natural gas leak. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott is live at the scene along snyder avenue with whats going on now. Katherine. Reporter matt, six homes were evacuated as you said, 17 people. As of right now all but two people have been able to return. Were being told that those two people should be allowed in any minute now. Pgw just went inside to check the levels to make sure it was safe for them to return and you can see theres still work here being done on the 1300 block of snyder in south philadelphia after pgw made some temporary repairs after a rupture in a gas main earlier this morning. Firefighters tell us a passerby called a strong smell of fumes around 2 45 this morning. When the Fire Department arrived they smelled it too. They took readings and evacuated six apartments on this block. They determined the smell was coming from outside of these homes and you can see they dug up the street. Residents tell us they woke up to the Fire Department knock ing on their door. Someone knocking on the door. I didnt really know what it was at first. Pretty deep sleeper. Then they got me out. We got 60 percent natural gas reading from our Fire Department meters. That alarms us. The alert will go on in the alarm to certainly notify us that theres a natural gas leak. We made the precaution of moving people out putting them in a safe area. Reporter and back here live i just got the update that those final two people are allowed back inside their homes, so the allclear has been given for everybody who was evacuated earlier this morning to go back inside. Again, 17 people were evacuated earlier after a 4inch gas main ruptured. Temporary repairs have been made. There are still restrictions on this street as far as traffic is concerned. As we take a look outside weve got tranquil conditions at the airport. The camera not really rocking and rolling this morning because theres not much wind out there. Have a couple of highlights to your forecast. We are going to see more clouds build through the day. Even if we get some early sunshine and then tomorrow we have some rain down south and some snow across most of the region arriving at some point during the afternoon or evening and probably accumulating a little bit. Well have more on all of that in just a minute. 30 degrees in philadelphia currently as you step outside. 27 wilmington, 29 in allentown, 31 in trenton and 33 degrees this morning in sea isle city. Theres that cloud cover getting a little bit thicker out to the west of us. Some early sunshine perhaps and then the clouds get thicker. Heres a little bit of bits and pieces of precipitation out there thats possible that you get a snowflake here or there today but i think generally speaking its dry. Up in allentown it will also be little milder than its been a lot of the recent couple of weeks. 40 degrees is your high in allentown, sun giving way to increased clouds, chilly not all that windy and down the shore, well go for a high of 46 degrees, sun giving way to clouds chilly conditions but also not all that windy at the shore. So, thats not too has been beach heres how we get there today. 31 degrees by 8 oclock but by 11 oclock a more comfortable 38 and then 43 by 2 oclock with that high of 44 probably around 2 oclock this afternoon. Future tracker 6 picks the story up tomorrow and clouds will increase again during the day. There is a chance that during the afternoon we start to see some light snow mixing in. The latest run on future tracker has wanted to suppress this snow to the west until about 6 oclock in the evening with just a couple of little patches here or there. I actually think theres a chance this comes in a little faster but in any event during the afternoon and evening well be on the lookout for that light snow arriving and then as we go later into the evening up until 11 oclock its one of those situations where i do think cecily tynan will have something to show you at 11 oclock here on 6abc. There could be a little changeover to rain down south and then the whole thing appears to be gone pretty much before you get up on thursday morning. What are we expecting on the ground . Tomorrow at some point during the afternoon and evening well be on the lookout for that light snow building in. It will be more rain down south but snow close to philadelphia and north. 36 degrees is your high. And at night well accumulate probably 1 to 2 inches. And then partly sunny and dry on thursday, a high of 40. Friday chilly, 36. And saturday mostly cloudy with a high of 40. The clouds on saturday by the way are related to a southern system that we think is going to be far enough away from us that we wont get any precipitation. Partly sunny sunday, a another chance of rain or snow on monday. Okay, thank you david. Its now 6 12. And of course were watching whats going on with the traffic here. Karen you have been saying no one really is certain as to why this person was on the road in the first place. Right. You might think with a disabled vehicle and the person was out there but we didnt see a disabled vehicle here. What we do know is that theyre currently putting a van on a tow truck right now getting ready to clear this accident scene out here. We have police, weve got a tow truck on the scene but as soon as it happened, and we saw this image and showed it to you even before police arrived, we were watching live as police came to the scene and we can see that the left lane was blocked, we had a backup, we had two ambulances, we had penndot, we had about five police cars on the scene. Out to the west theres a hints of quick hitting precipitation that seems to wants to fall apart before it heads into our area. As we look outside we have sky 6, theres the ben franklin bridge and over on the upper righthand portion of your screen you can see an area where the clouds havent quite filled in yet and the skies are starting to get brighter. The temperature 30 degrees right now so cool enough for coats but with winds only running at 6 Miles Per Hour it really isnt all that bad compared to some of those more blustery mornings weve had recently. There you see cloud cover getting thicker from the west. Again, some early sunshine is possible but generally speaking as we go through the day the clouds will get thicker and by later this afternoon we should have them a lot thicker than they are this morning. As we go through the day the temperatures arent treating us too badly. Were still below freezing by 8 oclock but by 11 oclock in the upper 30s and then 43 by 2 oclock with a high today of 44 at about 3 oclock this afternoon. And with light winds despite more cloud cover thats going to be fairly tranquil comfortable temperature for this time of year. Highs across the region little bit of a range. 40 in allentown, 46 in cape may and everybody else in between. As we take a look at tomorrow, the system producing more clouds today is out of here so that we might see a little bit of early sunshine tomorrow but generally speaking its another day where the clouds get thicker and this is a brand new run on future tracker 6 showing us the arrival of tomorrows precipitation. Again, down to the south it looks like rain. Farther to the north from areas close to i95 and north it will be snow probably light snow for the most part and by 3 oclock there is at chance that its beginning to come into the western suburbs and it looks like by the evening rush hour there is a chance that its all the way past philadelphia. This particular model run has sort of a dry slot there but i dont think you can count on that. I would allow for the evening rush to be involved with some of this rain to the south and some of the light snow to the north. And then as we go later into the evening all the way up to 11 oclock cecily tynan probably still has some light snow to show you and the whole thing gets out of here pretty quickly after that so that by the time you wake up thursday morning the snow is over. What are we expecting . Well, 1 to 2 inches accumulation appears possible. Some of that could begin during the Late Afternoon and early evening hours. The rest of it tomorrow night and down south where youll have rain mixing in, a coating is possible toward the tail end of the whole thing. Again the main impacts of this if it comes in fast enough would be the wednesday evening rush. Thats the one rush hour affected by this. You could see reduced visibility with snow falling and slick roadways of course are a possibility along with slow travel. It all depends on how quickly that system comes in. And how quickly we can get temperatures cold enough to get that stuff to stick to road surfaces but again tomorrow afternoon and evening would be the time to watch. 44 with sun to clouds today. Tomorrow light snow arriving in the afternoon with rain down south snow to the north. Philadelphia probably mainly snow and 36 is the high and that snow continues until probably sometime after midnight tomorrow night. Then partly sunny again on thursday with a high of 40. 36 and chilly on friday, mostly cloudy on saturday with a high of 40. Those clouds in association with a southern system that we think is going to be far enough south where we dont get precipitation but were watching that. Back to dry conditions or i should say partly sunny on sunday 42. And then the next chance of rain or snow appears to be monday. Okay. Thank you david.
