As we head out the door this morning 47 degrees by 6 oclock, 48 by 8 oclock. Not as windy as yesterday so cool enough for a jacket or a coat but not too bad overall. And as we roll through the afternoon it will be a little cooler than it was yesterday but with less wind not too bad. Your high is 57 degrees and well probably hit that at about 3 oclock this afternoon before dipping back into the low 50s by dinnertime. Tomorrow we have rain on the way. We have construction that was causing a problem on i95 southbound approaching allegheny. It almost caused a couple accidents as they were clearing out but they have cleared now. Things are moving better. All lanes back opened on i95 southbound. How about the vine street expressway . Weve watched a few westbound cars move right now. Eastbound still shut down. Expected to open though momentarily so eastbound expected to be clear any minute now. But should watch for that. Lets look at the schuylkill expressway. Just looking at the construction crews theyre still out here at this point. Looked like they were in the process of clearing but still seeing that right now. The ramps connecting the schuylkill with south street had been closed overnight. It should be opening any minutes now but we he still see the crews on the scene. We have a problem with a downed pole causing an issue and theyve shut down south park avenue and theyve closed that right near eagleville road so if youre in this area of lower providence township you can use egypt road or sunny side avenue as a way to get around the problem there. Matt. Thank you karen. Breaking right now a man driving himself to the hospital after being shot crashed his car head on with a tractortrailer. Police tell action news that the man was shot near green and manheim streets and was heading to Temple University hospital where he slammed into a tractortrailer at germantown avenue and pike street. Thats in the citys tioganicetown section. Rescue crews used the jaws of life to get the man out of the car and once he was out, medical crews discovered he had been shot twice. Police believe drugs were a factor here. Inside of the 2003 chevy blazer that the victim was driving, you can see in plane view several packets of what appears to be crack cocaine. Police are still working to find the shooter. They are checking security cameras in the area hoping to find clues to solve the case. Overnight gunfire erupted in the Strawberry Mansion section. This happened near 27 and lehigh streets. No word on who pulled the trigger or what could have motivated that shooting. Philadelphia police trying to track down a center city slasher. They believe one man carried out two random attacks. One man was stabbed near the river loft apartments at 23rd and walnut streets at 6 00 a. M. Yesterday. Surveillance video caught a guy who Police Believe is the slasher eyeing his first victim running by. Then minutes later Joshua Mcnamara says the attacker slashed him in the face as he was walking to the gym at 21st and arch streets. Police do not have a motive. An email threat sent to several School Board Members prompted the cancellation of classes for nearly 650,000 students. More than 2700 officers searched 1500 school sites for explosives and weapons. The fbi determined the threat was not credible and new York City Schools received a similar threat but police dismissed it as a hoax as wel well. Up in the Lehigh Valley your forecast is for clouds giving way to some sun, less wind, a high of 52 degreesly. Down the shore, not too bad, 54 degrees, a little cooler than yesterday but with less wind its kind of a nice tradeoff. Police say the boy was riding his bike last week when he told the elderly driver one of his tires was low. And while the man was checking his tires police say the youngster jumped in and took off. A woman who was set to be in classes at Rowan University in south jersey was killed in a wrong way crash in florida. The family of carmen crialez says she was driving to the airport on sunday when she was supposed to board a flight to new jersey. Another car slammed into her head on in miami. New this morning, the family of an ohio teen who killed her self last year is suing the girls school district. Emily olsons parents say the relenderless bullying drove the girl to take her own life.
