Theres also just a little bit of wind but with the numbers that low its pretty easy to get some pretty severe wind chills and sure enough a lot of zeros on the map. Thats what it feels like across the region despite light winds. As we roll through the day partly sunny skies overall ahigh of 24 degrees. Were probably on that between 3 and 4 oclock this afternoon. It is cold all the way. Little milder weather tomorrow. Little bit anyway. And ill have details on that coming up in the accuweather 7day karen. Well take every little bit we can. Yesterday mornings massive tanker truck fire is still affecting traffic this morning. The action cam is live on the scene right now. Looking live in pennsauken in camden county. I know its hard to see but you see the flashing lights out there, the ramp connecting 90 eastbound with 130 are closed at this point. Traffic is being diverted onto union avenue. Expect these delays. Its early yet but expect delays coming off of the betsy ross bridge. Instead of those ramps you can use 73 southbound instead. Lets take a look at other problems through the region here. In south philadelphia weve got a water main break here thats penrose avenue and it is closing the ramp from penrose avenue to the schuylkill expressway eastbound. If youre in this area you have to use the ramps from broad street to the schuylkill eastbound. Yet another water main break causing a problem this morning and we have issues with disabled vehicles also affected by the cold here, the cars. So were looking live on the schuylkill. Westbound at the conshohocken curve you see the flashing lights even at this early hour. A disabled vehicle off to the shoulder. Penndot is on the scene assist wind gust that. Weve got another disabled vehicle blocking the right lane. This is in northeast extension northbound approaching quakertown so expect slowing in this area as well. Matt and tam. Okay, thank you karen. Weve got breaking new developments in a search for a young girl taken from her home in delaware. Police have just gotten a key clue. So lets go right over to action News Reporter Annie Mccormick. Shes live in new castle. What do you know annie . Reporter yeah, and tam at this point police do believe this little girl is in imminent danger. We just got this video in moments ago. Take a look. This is the vehicle that Police Originally believed that the little girls father was driving. They just towed this vehicle. They believe Michael Trotta was driving this gray mazda. They discovered it less than four city blocks from the little girls home in the stockton neighborhood on stockton drive. It has now been towed to here where we are at New Castle County police. Well, this is the man that police are looking for Michael Trotta, 5foot eight 160 pounds, balding with a scruffy beard and a mustache. Police say hes wearing all black clothing. They tell us just before 7 00 p. M. Trotta came to his exgirlfriends home in the 800 block of east basin road in new castle at the school side apartments. Now police say he assaulted his ex and kidnapped his threeyearold daughter elinor the daughter they have together. Shes white 60 pounds heavyset with shoulder length hair last seen wearing a purple puffy coat pink pants and frozen sneakers. There are several vehicles that have been reported originally that mazda we now know that they have that in custody here. Trotta could be traveling though, in some of these other vehicles that they have described with an unknown adult white female in either a gray ford mustang or also an older model 2000 red ford explorer. Again, we just got that video in literally moments before my live shot. We saw that car being brought into here but they also have issued an amber alert in new jersey. Originally they believed that he could have traveled to new jersey on his way to new york city. That still could be the case so police want everyone in all states to keep an eye out for this man and for that little girl. If you have any information theyre urging you to call local police or 911. The route 90 off ramp to route 130 in pennsauken, new jersey, will remain closed so that the roadway can be inspected today a tankser truck overturned there yesterday and the truck carrying about 8,000 gallons of gasoline erupted into flames and black smoke. The intense fire damaged the roadway near the betsy ross bridge. 30 homes were evacuated. Camden county Officials Say a major gas spill contaminated the ground but the air was still safe to breathe. The owner of the truck says the driver is fine. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Opening statements are expected to begin today in the trial of a man charged with trying to kill a Philadelphia Police officer. Eric torres is charged with attempted murder in the shooting of officer edward davies. It happened during a traffic stop in august of 2013. Davies spent more than a month in the hospital recovering from his wounds. Groundbreaking study says there should be a radical change in how we approach peanut allergies. Erin ohearn joins us live at the big board with details. Erin this is a concern for so many parents. Tam as a parent you know their strict rules about peanut products in schools. Youll often see that nut free zone sign on the front doors of preschools Nursery Schools even some elementary schools. In recent years parents have been told to avoid exposing their children to peanuts. Sometimes until they were two or three years old. But new Scientific Research is reversing that thinking suggesting the earlier you expose your child to peanut products, the less chance they will develop potentially a deadly allergy. It is being called a break through in peanut allergies and the medical community is now telling families that they slash their childs risk of developing an al lorring by 80 percent if they introduce peanut products to babies between four and 11 months. This is a dramatic change. Its so different from how we used to approach this. If your child already has Food Allergies or they run in your family they need to get skin tested before you introduce peanuts but for every other child you want to make sure when you start them on solid foods they get a wide variety. Not exposing them to them could be the biggest risk of all. Reporter clearly a game changer here. Millions of americans have this potentially dangerous allergy so the news that taking this early exposure approach could cut the allergy risk by 80 percent is pretty encouraging to those families. Over the last 12 days weve averaged 16. 6 degrees below average and weve had six mornings including this morning out of the last 12 with single digit lows. So, this is the sort of thing that weve gotten used to i suppose or well, at least weve been experiencing a lot. I dont know if you ever quite get used to it. We have a lost clear skies across the region though this morning so were looking at sunshine early and then a transition to partly sunny skies. This afternoon well go partly sunny in allentown. Still cold with a high of just 18 degrees. The winds not as strong as yesterday but youre probably going to have wind chills in the Single Digits up in the Lehigh Valley for a good portion of the day. During the afternoon hours wind chills are probably in the teens although the winds are only running about eight to 16 Miles Per Hour and theyre out of the northwest this morning turning from the southwest later today and tonight which is good news. This is new this morning a driver in Southern California now faces felony evasion charges after leading police on a dangerous high speed chase. The 33yearold drove up to 135 miles an hour in his pickup truck last night. He was involved in two minor crashes during that chase. At one point a female passenger was able to jump out of the car. The officer was finally able to bump the truck to get that driver to lose control. He was taken into custody after a 30 minute standoff with police. Also new this morning, rescuers in florida have freed a group of at least 17 manatees that were stuck in a storm drain. Sea world crews say wildlife officials and Satellite Beach firefighters all worked together throughout the night t a large back low was used to lift the mammals. All of the else queued manatees were released back into the water. Officials say manatees occasionally swim into storm drains but some of the larger animals as you can see there can get wedged in and stuck. The flyers face the hurricanes tonight. We also for a second straight morning have a wind chill advisory up in the poconos up until 10 oclock and between now and then we are going to be looking at wind chills that could go as low as 15 to 20 degrees below zero. For the second straight morning im going to warn you for some patchy ice both on id streets and sidewalks. Probably not as widespread as yesterday but despite the fact that we were below freezing yesterday we did still get the sun out for several hours in the afternoon and that did cause some monday afternoon melting and we have seen a refreeze of anything that didnt dry awesome sunshine is on the way.
