That starts at 4 00 a. M. There was an Extraordinary Development along the campaign trail when a former candidate for president blasted the frontrunner. Mitt romney called donald trump, dangerous and a phoney and a fraud. And that republicans cannot allow donald trump be the nominee. Think of Donald Trump Personal qualities. The bullying the greed, the showing off. The massage any. The absurd third great theat tricks. This part of a blistering speech and trump wasted no time responding, he dismissed romney who he once endorsed for president. He failed, he failed horribly. John mccain echoedromneys comments. Chris christie responded today after another newspaper called for his resignation, the governor says he is not going anywhere. Nora muchanic is live at the state house in trenton with the full story. Reporter hi there sharrie. This was a free wheeling News Conference where the governor answered questions from reporters for an hour and a half. The first time he made himself available since he dropped out of the president ial race. And he talked about that and dismissed calls for him to resign. I thought i was better but the voters disagreed. He answered questions, and governor christie says he is back in new jersey and on the job. Im here and back to work and 22 days since the president ial campaign and 19 of those days at work. Because of his prolonged absences and what they call his arrogance. Six newspapers in the state called for him to resign and the star leather, the largest paper in the state did the same. They say he neglected his job and lost any shred of creditability by endorsing donald trump. I intend as i said in the press conference i gave with mr. Trump, when i was asked about a future role in any administration, i expected to be here until january 16th 2018. He mocked psychiatrists that read anything into his blank stare. No i wasnt being held hostage or thinking what the hell have i done. I was standing up there supporting the person i believe is the best person to beat hillary clinton. Now, the governor says he is not a fulltime surrogate for donald trump although he may be doing some traveling for them. He plans to take his wife, mary pata way to celebrate their anniversary. Here in philadelphia, mayor kenney delivered the budget today that is roughly 100 million more than last year. We listen to philadelphians beg pour family sustaining jobs and quality schools, we can get all of those things with one tax. The budget is now in the hands of the city council that has opposed similar sugary drink taxes twice before. Coming up tonight on action news at 5 00, vernon odom will have other highlights from kenneys plan and reaction to it. Bound to be a fight for sure. Time for a check of the action news traffic report. Lets go live to matt pellman in the traffic center. We are fighting delays as we try to head home this afternoon. One of them forming here on 95 northbound side in the normal slow spot from allegheny from this point to the work zone at cotman avenue. Here is the good news, a lot better on the southbound side than it was yesterday afternoon when we had the five car pileup, all lanes are open but the speeds are slowing. Same thing on the vine street expressway and the schuylkill expressway, where many speeds are in the teens, we are watching a crash at delco at Baltimore Pike at soapy suddened car wash. Going for a ride on the westbound side of the pennsylvania turnpike, cruising along doing okay and you hit the brakes by Fort Washington, and speeds in the 20s where there is a broken down vehicle on the left lane, that is the reason for the delay on the westbound side of the pennsylvania turnpike. And lower pottsgrove there is a crash by charlotte street by all done transmission and auto repairs. Now time to do the commuter report on the ipad. This one on 295, where you see the slow speeds but otherwise no crashes in south jersey, not a terrible start as we kick things off. Sounds good see you then. Still ahead on a thursday afternoon, u. Lets look at new eagles quarterback, sam bradford, back. Back with the Philadelphia Eagles after signing his two year deal, he never wanted to walk away and test free agency, because philadelphia is the place the 28yearold wanted to stay. Obviously when my agent started talks with them a few weeks ago and then to get the deal done this week it was very exciting for me. I think every year say new year and you are always trying to prove yourself. I approach each year the same, and if i go out and continue to play the way i know i can and build on the way i finished last year. I think that the contract thing will take care of itself. Im not concerned with the length of the deal. Reporter its only a two year deal but bradford hopes to be here for another decade and that depends on how he plays and he believes this team is close to being a playoff team and i question him if it will happen in 2016 and he would not put a timetable or prediction on it and the eagles are close to becoming a playoff team. The good thing is, once that flower show gets going next week, it is going to feel and look like spring next week as the temperatures skyrocket. For now we are chatting winter, sky 6 hd over the ben franklin bridge, the sunshine we had much of the day now all but gone as the clouds take over ahead of a system moving in from the south and west. 44 in allentown un38 in philadelphia and 38 in millville. Chilly and it starts to feel like snow out there. With that sky turning milky white. As we look to the south and west the clouds pushed in first and you see a little bit of light snow and rain showers, you notice the system how fragmented the system is and its not well put together and remains discombobulated, and the clouds pick up tonight and light snow breaks out late tonight after 10 00 or 11 00 and 31 in philadelphia and 29 in millville. Temperatures will be just below freezing so any surfaces that are not treated could get a little snow on them. Future tracker at 11 00, you see the light snow breaking out in southern areas and we are still waiting at 11 00 philadelphia to the Lehigh Valley. 2 00 in the morning, you see the patches of blue on here or purple that is light snow but its not well put together and not everyone is seeing the snow with temperatures at the freezing point. Same thing 6 30 in the morning and snowing in spots here and there with temperatures around the freezing point. But then as we get into the midmorning hours we start to bounce back above freezing and the snow is stopping to the north and west. And still snowing in most of new jersey and delaware during the middle part of the morning and then the afternoon at 2 00, temperatures go into the lower 40s and even the sunshine returns tomorrow afternoon and so what does stick will be melting by the afternoon hours. Expected snow not a whole lot. From you north of the pennsylvania turnpike a coating to an inch and a general 1 to 2 inches in most locations, the best chance for the 2 inchs southern new jersey and delaware, most areas right around that inch mark, we have to remind ourselves we will see the accumulation on the untreated surfaces for the morning rush tomorrow, main roads look to stay just wet and we do have that high march sun angle now and its a dynamo even through the cloud cover, that radiation can penetrate through and well see quick melting throughout the day tomorrow. As we take a look at the four day at 4 00 forecast, the temperature spiking to 42 tomorrow and spiking sun with periods of light snow showers in the morning and clouds thicken up on saturday, 45 degrees and not a lot of sun over the weekend and another round of snow and rain showers giving way to rain showers and 48 and we turn up the heat on monday with serious clouds, the temperature of 60 degrees and the 60 will feel cool compared to the rest of the sevenday forecast in the next half hour. And now as many of us dream of spring, the reality is its still winter and we feel it in the delaware and Lehigh Valleys tonight into tomorrow. We start at 4 30 now with meteorologist, adam joseph, live at the big board with more to expect and when. Reporter its all about the timing and not the amount of snow, you get a little bit of snow to fall during any rush hour and it can create issues. Double scan live radar showing winter advisories in place from virginia to North Carolina and northern parts of georgia, as we widen out the system, you see a system one low pressure near nashville and one near st. Louis and chicago, so it is completely a part at this point. When you talk about the two areas of low pressure and they stay apart until they are off the coast, so most of this heavy precipitation slides to the south and we get grazed by this system as it passes by and we have very dry air in place and dew points drop into the single digit as well as teens. For the snow to reach the ground we have to moisten the entire column so a lot of it will be wasted by moistening up the atmosphere before it actually hits the ground but snow will develop overnight tonight in central delaware and southern new jersey, by wilmington and trenton and philadelphia 11 00 to midnight and Lehigh Valley from 11 00 p. The three bandits smashed the window on 17th and ran for higher end merchandise with 15 second they are gone. They usually have an idea what is in the store and the type of misdemeanor they want to get and the plan to access that store and getting the merchandise and getting back out. Philadelphia police say the smash and grab is the third such burglary in the past month in center city. Bloomingdales and century 21 were hit last month. At this point in time there doesnt appear to be a connection. Most retailers will not comment on camera. They say thefts are common but smash and grabs are not. We have the alarm system and the gate helps. A lot of stores down here dont have the gate as an option to protected store. This guy was wearing glasses and a fur hat and this is another suspect, they fled the crime scene in a light colored sedan, possibly light blue. They came prepared, not like someone walking down the street and deciding to smash this window at this point. Many retailers down in center city have the gates that go over the glass and vince does not have those and the thieves took advantage. Chad pradelli, channel 6 action news. Thank you. Certainly a powerful visit there. And a powerful story to start here with big talkers, one woman singlehandedly changing the game and tackling bullied headon and what it means to be and she has been living with a beard since she was 11 years old and people made fun with razor sharp words, she is not just rising above it, but making history. She is the first female bearded model. The hair is caused by hormonal imbalance. And she is the forefront of body acceptance and a jewelry designer noticed her and asked her to model in her fashion show. She said i always wanted to be like the pretty modelled, i grew up told i was fat, ugly and disgusting to even model and i would never walk the runway. And we got rid of a crash in cinnaminson at welsh road. And one crash now along 200 in the potted town area. I said no accident nasdaq south jersey this afternoon and then one happens and it clears out quickly on 295 northbound near the northsouth freeway. Not your fault, you didnt jinx it. I try not to. Coming up a look at the snow that is coming. Meteorologist, adam joseph, joining us now well call this a nuisance. There is a big prize at the end of the sevenday forecast. Any flake that falls, its right around freezing on the untreated surfaces, 10 00 in the morning not doing anything north and west but mainly south and east in southern new jersey and even there it will stop sticking at 10 00 bought of the sun breaking over the horizon, and we are back to the low 40s. With sunshine returning in the afternoon. Expected snowfall just a coating to an inch. And bucks county and trenton and the poconos, a general 1 to 2 inches look towards the lower end from philadelphia to lancaster towards the 2 inches in southern new jersey and southern parts of delaware, for the morning rush tomorrow its a red light, light snow with some slick spots and the evening rush hour we are look agent clear roadways with temperatures in the 40s and the slick spots earlier in the morning will quickly improve with the march sun going work even with the snow falling at 8 00, 9 00, the snow will have a parttime sticking and then the low becomes a beast of a storm over the open waters of the atlantic.
