Yeah hi, shirleen. Delvin barnes entered a plea of not guilty in federal court and Court Documents revealed new details about the kidnapping ordeal. The hearing was short and to the point. Barnes waived his right to petition for bail and pled not guilty to a single count of kidnapping. And learning more about the case and the hardships endured. There was a period of time during her abduction she was forced to remain in the drunk. And Delvin Barnes is the man seen snatching her off the street in germantown on the 2nd. She found a hammer on the back seed of barnes car using it to smash out the rear passenger window before he drove off. He allegedly bound her hands with the zip ties and at times kept her hidden in the trunk. Sources say she gaves barnes her debit card and pin number hoping to leave the trail. The police say he is the man in the video using a debit card in maryland nine hours after the kidnapping and that was the first clue he had taken her out of state. Three days later federal agents found the car using attracting Device Installed by the car dealer. They arrested barnes at a Shopping Center in maryland and rescued carlisha. And barnes is facing other crimes facing rape and attempted murder charges, the alleged abduction of a 16yearold girl near richmond. First he is facing the federal kidnapping charge in the philadelphia case. He is being held without bail. Clearly by the facts of the cases a danger to the community and his exposure in terms of the sentence is significant so he would be a risk of flight. When barnes was arrested in maryland, he waiveled his rights, miranda rights, admitted to abducting carlesha despite the not guilty plea. Police say a man found dead in wilmington allege akilled by his coworker. 41 year old marcus cruz faces murder charges in the strangulation of donald smith. Investigators say the victim and suspect were colleagues at Reed Community recycling in new castle, but have not revealed a motive. This is the 25th homicide in wilmington so far this year. Police said today they are taking action to cut back on crime. Chopper 6 hd live over harvey road at i95 where police are getting ready to close the road after a policeinvolved shooting. Now the suspect involved in the shooting is being transported to christiana hospital via state police helicopter. All of this started just about 20 minutes ago. About 4 15 today. And it was some kind of police pursuit. The Delaware Police tell us they were in pursuit of a car in the area of harvey road, and again at 95. And at some point shots were fired. It is not yet clear at this point who fired the initial shots, if it was the suspect or if it was police or what prompted all of this. But you see the car the police were following in the trees and a couple of police cars on the scene. Harvey road shutdown at i95 at green street as they investigate the situation. Under clear skies and the sevenday forecast tomorrow, loads of sunshine but cold. The high only 43 degrees. On sunday not quite as cold, 49. Thursday, not quite as brutal, 44. And friday, still on the cool side but looking at temperatures only 8 degrees below normal with a high of 46 degrees.
