Some of these showers are starting to push into delaware. Looks like most of this will probably say south of philadelphia this morning. Between now or about 9 oclock youll be dealing where. Satellite shows you additional shower activity farther to the west. Its not out of the question that areas especially south of philadelphia pick up some of that as we go through the day. Temperatures this morning are warm. 79 degrees in philadelphia. 80 in wilmington, 70 in allentown, 74 in cape may. And as you take a look at those dewpoints were still pretty humid down south philadelphia places like millville, how about that dewpoint of 80 in dover. This is real humid air back in through here where you see that darker shade of green but up in philadelphia as expected those dewpoints are lower and we expect today to be less humid than yesterday. If youre out for a run this morning you can get it in in pretty good shape outside of that shower activity down south. 77 degrees by 7 oclock. 83 by 10 oclock. Thats probably going to be dry just about everywhere across the region and by noon 88 and this afternoon sun mixing with some clouds, more sun to the north, more clouds to the south, 91 degrees is your high atclock. And again there is the chance of a spotty shower or even a popup thunderstorm down south of philadelphia. Ill show you the latest model information on that and then weve got an uptick in humidity and more storms towards the end of the week karen. Details ahead on that as well. So much to look forward to humidity and storms. How about Police Checkpoints lets throw that in there, too. This is i95 approaching the vine street expressway. You see that southbound traffic headed towards penns landing. We of course have the Police Checkpoints blocking the left lane and the shoulder not allowing vehicles over 5 tons to continue on 95. Not creating a problem yet but dont worry it will. That will come as well as the Police Check Point down here on i95 found in in southwest philadelphia near the exit for the platt and the schuylkill. Right now speeds at 45 miles per hour. We saw those down to the Single Digits yesterday. Watch for extra delays on i95 and as more people take the schuylkill and the vine youll see extra delays there as well. Couple early problems out there. One accident on coats road in sharon hill an vehicle fire thats happening right now. This is in Plymouth Meeting Montgomery County. You want to watch for that on ridge pike Industrial Way. There is a little shower popping in to southern areas and if i go he in closer on this you can see areas just to the south of wilmington delaware are beginning to pick up some of this light to moderate rain and then it extends down through middletown delaware and smyrna and even dover the air force base picking up a bit of this and theres more rain out to the west. Does look like this is going to be with us during the morning commute and then we get a lull and then later this afternoon perhaps a shower or a thunderstorm particularly in those southern areas. As we take a look outside we have cloudy skies over the airport with the promise of some sun today. I think its going to be one of those days where the farther south you are the more clouds you see the farther north the more sun you see. Temperatures warm this morning in philadelphia 79 degrees. Your dewpoint at 66 which is moderately humid but not as oppressive as it was the last couple of mornings and the winds eastnortheast not all that strong at just 5 miles per hour. Future tracker6 showing that you any precipitation we do get this morning does appear to be off the map by about eight or 9 oclock so during that morning rush hour period perhaps a little wet and most of the rain probably south of philadelphia although i cant rule out something popping up closer to home. Then we get into the afternoon and the model right now anyway wants to put some additional shower or thunderstorm activity fairly close to philadelphia. Now previous runs have suppressed this farther south into places like Cape May County and dover delaware and ill be anxious to see the next model run which comes out a little later this morning. But we have to at least allow for the chance of some of this popping up this afternoon. Then by early this evening it looks like its pretty much gone. Again, the best chance of that is south of philadelphia bullet wel. The other part of ty looks like heat wave day six. Well be at 83 degrees by 10 oclock, 88 by noon. The heat not as intense today but if you get over 90 it continues the heat wave and it does look like well get to 91 by 3 oclock. By 5 oclock 85. Again more clouds to the south, more sun to the north and that shower or thunderstorm activity is possible at times. High temperatures up to the north in allentown 92 with increased sunshine. 93 in reading. 91 in wilmington trenton and philadelphia. And then in the 80s through most of south jersey and delaware. Down the shore it looks like mid 80s today. Youll still want the sunscreen especially the farther north you go along the coast as we will get some sun in. 84 degrees is more or less the high between Atlantic City down to cape may. A tad warmer in delaware. Again keep the sunscreen handy and beware of the possibility of a shower or a thunderstorm particularly down south. Tomorrow it looks like with a frontal boundary to the north and a low Pressure Center coming in from the west we get the return of hazy, hot and humid air. The heat index making it feel like its in the upper 90s and theres the chance of an evening or nighttime thunderstorm. Police tell us the driver lost control and crashed into pearl of the east in the 300 block of west oregon avenue. Two people were injured one of them taken to Thomas Jefferson university hospital.
