Two suspects in custody after police say they attacked a Montgomery County man with a wrench and a brick. Officials say about 11 20 sunday night 44yearold sergio he gullo and emi oka targeted a car in elkins park. The can cars owner confronted them. Police say thats when the suspects beat the victim before fleeing. The victim was able to pull a cover off of the vehicles Registration Plate and still identify it to police. Those suspects were caught a short time later. A driver struck and killed a pedestrian on the roosevelt boulevard this morning. It happened about 5 30 near harbison avenue in northeast philadelphia. Police say the driver had the green light and tried to swerve to avoid the pedestrian. Williams say the driver is a local doctor and stopped immediately to help the victim. No charges are expected. Police have not yet released the identity of that victim. Trenton police say a fight over money led to the stabbing of four people. Police arrested 31yearold Lashanda Felton in connection with the incident. Investigators responded at about 11 30 last night. Felton faces three counts of aggravated assault and various weapons charges. One victim refused treatment. Says monsignor william lynn did, protect a pedophile by covering up sexual abuse claims. In 2012, a philadelphia jury agreed. But last week, by a vote of two to one a three member superior court panel overturned that conviction ordering a new trial for lynn. It decided lynns trial judge allowed the jury to hear he too much evidence concerning prior bad acts or coverups from a time before lynn had any Actual Authority to assign priests in the 1990s. The appellate finding the sheer volume of those prior bad acts could have unfairly prejudiced jurors against lynn. Seth williams today vowing to fight the move for a new trial. His plan to ask the full superior court to revisit and review the issue. Williams saying the prior bad acts were brought in so jurors could understand the ongoing pattern of how the church traditionally dealt with some abusive priests. So, we had to show all these other acts, all of the things that showed monsignor lynn knew how dangerous it was to put a pedophile into a school with children. So we had to show all those other bad acts. If not, the defendant, he has a great attorney, his defense attorney at trial would say well he wouldnt know what would happen.
