Captain james clark. I mean they knew she had a large amount of money in the house. They got in under the premise of cleaning her house. Once inside, they demanded her money. She had it hidden and they repeatedly beat her until she told them where it was at. It was really sad and very senseless murder. Reporter homicide investigators spent the day here at the crime scene looking for clues as neighbors learned of wilsons death. As homicide detectives began their work here at 1347 earl street in fishtown, word spread that 54yearold kathy wilson had been murdered. Shes a wonderful lady to get along with but i didnt know she was killed until just now. Reporter this morning a woman who is now in Police Custody showed up at the nearby Police District and told officers she thought wilson might be dead. Officers went to the house and entered through a second floor bedroom window. They found all the gas burners on the stove had been left on. Then they discovered wilsons body on the first floor sofa. She had been very badly beaten. Her hair pulled out. There was blood everywhere. What would be the motive for Something Like this . Things like this dont happen you know around this neighborhood. Its horrible. Reporter pgw workers were called in to turn off the gas. Police believe wilson was killed on friday. The last day she was seen alive. Neighbors said wilson worked the polls every election day. She was very petite but had a big sense of humor. She had heart shaped sunglasses on. She was just a lot of fun alot of fun and its a shame. I men especially here in fishtown i mean, tragedy. Im just really in complete shock. She knew everybody in the neighborhood and i dont i dont understand. Its just crazy everything there happened to her. Reporter so again tonight two suspects in custody, 50yearold James Cheever and 47yearold jane johnson boyfriend and girlfriend. Two teenagers are in custody tonight after allegedly assaulting a teacher. The incident happened this morning at George Washington high school in the somerton section of philadelphia. Police say the ninth and tenth graders went to the teachs classroom to retrieve a cell phone. Police say one of the teens punched the teacher in the face, the other teenager pushed the teacher two times. The teacher was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Police have given the all clear at radnor high school. A students found a bullet at the school this morning. The school was put on lockdown as k9 officers searched the building. Police found no additional ammunition. Law men say the school was a host site for the sat exam this weekend so theyre unsure where the bullet may have come from. Police say as a precaution, theyll have extra patrols around the school tomorrow. From you in voorhees, new jersey, and are looking to fill up your tank with gas, you might want to be careful about which gas station you pull into. There is a lukoil station that has apparently gone rogue charging a lot more than every other gas station in the neighborhood. New jersey correspondent Nora Muchanic is live on haddonfieldberlin road. Nora, how is this gas station getting away with charging almost twice as much as the station down the street . Reporter jim, the Gasoline Retailers association tells us you can charge whatever you want but some local residents arent buying that. Because knowing that you can get gas right now for under two bucks a gallon, theyre steamed this station is charging double that. They say posed as contractors and stole 90,000 from a man in northeast philadelphia. Investigators say the men did work on the 81yearolds drive way a few weeks back. The victims soninlaw tells police that they came back this weekend asking to use the bathroom. Instead, they went to the mans safe and stole thousands of dollars. Police say the men are driving a into your model red pickup truck. This one took place at the Freedoms Foundation at valley forge clap pell of the four fathers in chester county. The ceremony was hosted by the pearl harbor remembrance association, the only active chapter left in the state of pennsylvania. Survivors and local veterans also took part in a wreath laying ceremony and a 21 gun salute. New at 6 oclock, this was the end of quite a journey in bensalem bucks county.
