That shooting happened back in 1994 when troopers went to his home to question him about a stolen handgun. Jeremy read was 15 at the time. Hes now 36. He was killed tuesday after being pulled over by Bridgeton Police. Authorities will only say that a handgun was revealed but they have yet to release any more details about that deadly traffic stop. We are learning new details today as well about the violent attack on a woman in a Spring Garden parking garage yesterday. The suspect is under arrest facing rape and attempted murder charges. People living around here will certainly on edge. Any time you have a Violent Crime like what happened here yesterday, one sense of security is fractured. Police say Steven Woodson followed this woman into the parking garage. She had been dropped off by a friend to get her car on the second level. He put his hand over her mouth. Then allegedly beat and raped her. She was savagely beaten. She was at werent point she states she lost consciousness and when she came to, this male was on top going through her pocketbook. Its just terrible. You cant even walk the streets anymore. You really cant. Area residents are alarmed by the attack though theres some some solace knowing woodson is off the street thanks to a husband and wife who interrupted the attack. Without lesstation they opened themselves up to the victim no got that victim secured in a car took care of her while the other victim while the other witness actually pursued and called 911 at the same time. Reporter Police Quickly responded and arrested woodson around the corner at 17th and Spring Garden. Police say they recovered evidence from the victim on him. The parking garage is used for residents of the one Franklin Town apartments. Today Security Officers manned the lot which residents say is unusual. Regardless some with whom we spoke say theyre not blaming the apartment complex which told action news they had no comment. Police tell me woodson was here visiting his grandparents from pittsburgh. He does have prior arrests for lewdness, robbery and other related charges. Police are now seeing if he is connected to any other open cases. Starting january 4th drivers will be paying a nickel to a dime more for that short trip depending if they use ez pass or pay cash. To the west Bob Dell Grosso uses the turnpike about once a week. Lancaster the advisory goes into effect at 7 oclock tomorrow morning. The poconos around noon and it look like some of that sleet and freezing rain will likely last well into the afternoon for the poconos so do be careful if youre driving up to the among taken this weekend.
