Thats because of a law passed back in 2008 which allows casinos to stay running for up to seven days into a Government Shutdown. Officials say theyre looking for ways to make sure that doesnt happen especially with casinos regaining momentum in recent months. Crews were called to the 2900 block of long shore avenue around 11 30 this morning. Where inside Police Found Evidence the rental property was being used to grow synthetic marijuana. Undercover officers told action news on the scene that it appears the chemical acetone which is used to treat the plants may have fueled the flames. Some type of fight led to a shooting in the feltonville section of philadelphia. The victim was shot once in the leg around 1 oclock this morning. Police found him along the 4700 block of rising sun avenue and rushed him to temple hospital in critical condition. So far no one has been arrested. Officials in delaware say they will not hand over detailed voter information to the president s voting commission. The commission asked for the information as part of an investigation into alleged voter fraud in last years elections. Today delawares state commissioner said releasing such information would not preserve the fairness or integrity of elections in the first state. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf also said he will not comply with the president s order. New jersey officials have not yet responded publically. The fourth of july is just hours away but its safe to say holiday activities are already in full swing around the region. That includes up and down the jersey shore packed with people looking to enjoy the beach on this hot and sunny long weekend. Ahead of that cold front and then behind it it was back in the heat yesterday, 91 degrees, lower humidity yesterday than saturday, though and today currently 90. So not a heat wave but definitely warm, above the normal high of 87 degrees. If youre stepping outside right now its 90 in philadelphia. Its also pretty hot to the south. Washington, d. C. 91. Richmond 92, although dewpoints have dropped into the 50s. We had dewpoints in the 60s yesterday. Holding at 59 degrees. All the victims were lined up to get a cab at bostons logan international. Officials believe the taxi driver accidentally stepped on the gas instead of stepping on the brakes. One of the victims was seriously hurt. A bus crash on a german highway has taken the lives of 18 people and left 30 other people hurt. Authorities say the busloaded with Senior Citizens slammed into a tractortrailer that was stopped in traffic in bavaria. The crash touched off a fire so intense that firefighters couldnt get in to rescue those trapped. No word yet on why the bus driver didnt slow down. This is our Temple University camera seeing lots of sunshine, a few fair weather cumulus clouds popping up and we do have temperatures in the 90s. So, if youre out and about tonight, it stays on the warm side. Basically we are in the 80s right through 8 oclock and then as we head towards midnight, temperatures dropping down into the 70s. So, definitely a warm evening and your fourth of july forecast is looking pretty nice. Were looking at generally dry conditions. There will be an isolated shower or thunderstorm popping up but most of the region will be rain flee. Temperatures will be on the warm side, slightly on the humid side but not oppressive. As we head through the day tomorrow o10 oclock good amount of sunshine, some clouds up to the north. Then that boundary sinks to the south. This will create a few isolated popup showers and thunderstorms around 4 oclock. The investigation in what led up to the shooting continues. A fire reached two alarms at a business in franklinville Gloucester County overnight. Firefighters were called to auto sculptors around 1 00 a. M. Here on the 3,000 block of delsea drive. Flames were seen coming out of the office side of the business. Three tanker trucks were brought in to help because there were no nearby fire hydrants at the scene. No one was hurt in the blaze. The cause still under investigation. Philadelphia fire investigators are also trying to determine the cause of this fire in roxborough. A garage went up in that flames along the 4800 block of silver wood street just before 5 00 a. M. Theres no word if anyone was hurt in the fire. Police are looking for the man who tried to rob a 14yearold boy at gunpoint in west philadelphia. The suspect was captured on Surveillance Video inside of a store close to the crime scene. Investigators say he approached the victim and displayed a handgun on the 6300 block of jefferson street june 19th. But the would be thief ran away empty handed after the boy yelled for help. Police in ventnor still trying to sort how a person ended up injured on the street late last night. It happened near atlantic and newport avenues just before 10 00 a. M. Or 10 00 p. M. Initially investigators believe the person was thought to have been thrown from a car. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Officials are not commenting on how badly the person was hurt. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf still has the main part of a new budget on his desk but without funding to close a 2 billion gap. Lawmakers have yet to agree on how to raise the money and the clock is ticking. They sent him the main appropriations measure days ago. But the big story on action news tonight is the continuing Government Shutdown in new jersey and the beach backlash against governor Chris Christie. This is the third day of the shutdown in new jersey due to the budget stalemate and while the governor is shuttered state parks and beaches on this day before the fourth of July Christie has been taking heat because of this photo coming up showing he and his family using the summer beach house at the closed Island Beach State Park. Action News Reporter walter perez is live in trenton where the budget talks continue meanwhile. Walter. Reporter hey, rick, you know, lawmakers met today. Were told progress was made on this third day of the Government Shutdown but once again it was that photo of governor christie that stole the headlines. That is governor Chris Christie along with family and friends soaking in the sunshine on an otherwise empty Island Beach State Park near the governors official retreat. The beach is empty because state park police were turning people away from the main gate due to the Government Shutdown. When asked about it during a News Conference this weekend christie simply said. The governor has a residence at island beach. Others dont. Thats the way it goes. Run for governor and then you can have the residence. Reporter even the governors second in command has a problem with christies trip to the shore. Lieutenant governor kim guadagno also the gop nominee for governor posted a message on facebook blasting christie and she did not back down when asked about it earlier today. I can tell you what i would do if i was the governor. I certainly wouldnt be on the beach at a park that was closed as
