Well, today kaplan was also charged with assaulting five of that girls sisters bringing the total number of victims to six. That doubled kaplans bail from one to 2 million. There lab a deadly end to a week long manhunt for a murder suspect in oklahoma. Police caught up with Michael Vance yesterday. He was wanted for allegedly killing two people shooting two Police Officers and carjacking a couple. Vance was spotted leaving a camp site and was pulled over by a sheriff. They exchanged gunfire but vance got away. He was later cornered by a hey way patrolman about 45 minutes later. Another gun battle ensued and vance was shot dead. The patrolman was slot in the shoulder and is expected to be okay. In california, the hope for rescuers searching for a missing woman seemed all but lost. A woman missing for nearly a week is recovering after this dramatic rescue from her overturned vehicle. It all started with this Good Samaritan spotting the rolled over suv from afar. Thats when i saw something up on the hill that didnt look right. Reporter doug bearden hiking the rough terrain with his girlfriend to get a better look discovering a wreck. I got about 20 feet away from that car and my hair on my neck started to stand upism inside the driver trapped but alive. She could barely lift her head and all i heard was like moaning . Reporter doug staved stayed with the car and his girlfriend ran to the home to call 911. It happened to reporter First Responders rushing to the scene stabilizing the car and identifying the woman inside as 69yearold Barbara Mcpherson reported missing five days earlier. She was about 100 feet down on the slope from the top of the ridge. It was about a 30degree slope on the ridge and the car was actually leaning downhill and was very unstable. Reporter after an hour long effort, a search and rescue team freeing mcpherson from the suv and he getting her to safety. And a medical helicopter transported mcpherson from the scene to a hospital. The first tests are in on a new way of dealing with peanut allergies with a skin patch. Health reporter and registered nurse ali gorman at the big board with more. Skin patches can help people stop smoking prevent pregnancies and soon there may be a patch to help people particularly children become less allergic to peanuts. Several hospitals have been developing and testing one. And now a study shows that some people who wore one of the patches for a year could eat as least 10 times more peanut protein than they could before treatment. The patch is called via skin it has tiny amounts of peanut protein which over time makes someone less sensitive to peanuts. The biggest benefit was for kids ages four to 11. Children over 12 didnt see as much improvement. Last year the fda fast tracked these trials on the patch hoping to make it to market faster. Septa fully agrees with that approach and we continue working toward that goal. At this time discussions have been progressing. However, there is still many unresolved issues. We are hopeful that an agreement can be reached if both parties he remain engaged at the bargaining table. Although twu local 234s contract expires at midnight, there is no reason workers cannot stay on the job while negotiations continue. In the hopes of reaching an agreement. Too much is at stake for either side to fail to fully engage in the negotiating process. Septas negotiating team is committed to staying at the table to advance discussions and reach an agreement. For the sake of the thousands of riders who will be severely negatively impacted by a strike, we hope the union will do the same. Hes accused of shooting robbed braxton back in april. Storm center city claiming selfdefense. He says braxton punched him as he he tried to stop an argument. Braxton was having with someone else at sunday service. Storms is charged with involuntary manslaughter. One wrong move sent a car straight through a garage into a home in upper chichester. Tomorrow in a Montgomery County courtroom prosecutors will reportedly try to show that cosby showed a pattern by allegedly drugging and molesting women over five decades. Cosby is on trial for a 2004 incident involving Andrea Constand a former employee of temple university. A call is being made for a huge change to deal with the lead crisis in philadelphia. Pennsylvania senator Vincent Hughes spoke at city hall today and said there are thousands of kids across the city who are being exposed to lead every day in their own homes. He says its estimated to cost about 10,000 on average to remove toxic lead from one house. And hughes is calling on the state and federal government to supply the funds to do just that.
