An Early Morning fire in preliminary ouj township forced nearby residents to stay in their homes while firefighters fought a massive blaze at a warehouse 3 a. M. Chapped tells us the chemicals inside that building create aid cause for concern for the surrounding area. Reporter firefighters encountered heavy smoke and intense flames when they arrived at preliminary ouj township fire around 3 p. M. Wals collapsed and nearby residents say they heard several explosions. Firefighters told them the shelter in place if possible. There was a few explosions and my husband said, get away from the window. We were pretty nervous. My wife woke newspaper a panic. We moved our son out of the back bedroom. And into the front. We were ready to leave if we had to. The fire destroyed two businesses. Philadelphia flooring and senttex the fire was under control by morning and they worked to get out hot spots. Concern went to chemical runoff. They will Petroleum Base chemicals and runoff from hoses whats entering storm drain in nearby plymouth creek. We were trying to collect it and suck it out we realized that wouldnt work were going to dump large amounts of fresh water into the storm drain system to di lute it. Hazmat crews or on scene leaving the cleanup. They dont believed the burned chemicals pose a health risk to nearby residents. As for the warehouse its destroyed. One fireister suffered a minor hand injury and was taken to a local hospital. Im told he will be okay. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The fire started on the first floor of a home in the 700 block of center stit seat to and quickly spread upstairs next door.
