Reporter he lost to this man, dave brat, a virtually unknown College Professor on a tea party wave. He orchestrated the political coup from his virginia headquarters with only two paid staffers. The countrys changed. Reporter how different were their campaigns . Cantor raised 5 million, 50 times more than brat. In fact, cantor spent more at steakhouses than brat raised overall. Militants vowing to create their own Islamic State of taking control of Saddam Husseins hometown of tikrit. Iraqi soldiers put up very little resistance before abandoning their posts. It cops a day after mosul was conquered forcing hundreds of thousands to flee. The u. S. Is now considering a request for help, possibly a drone strike and the u. N. Condemned the militants. Im urging that the whole International Community must be united. We have to show strong solidarity to all forms of terrorism. As the insurgents advanced, their military trucks and weapons were taken along the way. Stories of abuse emerging from a new wave of immigrant children coming into the country unaccompanied by adults. Theyre being arrested as they cross the border. Theyre packed into fenced cages and forced to sleep on hard floors. There have been allegations of sexual abuse. Advocacy groups say 80 of the kids are not getting enough food and water. Im appalled at the scene. Theyre being held like prisoners. The children are often fleeing Violent Crimes in honduras and supposed to be transferred to health and Human Services within 72 hours. That suburban portland, Oregon High School where a freshman opened fire has canceled final exams. Sirens ] Reporter Police say the teenager responsible for this rampage was a 15yearold freshman, Jared Michael padgett, who arrived at school as though it were just another day. He arrived at the school on a school bus carrying a guitar case and a duffel bag. Reporter inside the ar15 Assault Rifle used in the attack plus a hunting knife, a handgun and nine extra clips of ammo. The shooter obtained the weapons from his family home. The weapons had been secured, but he defeated the security measures. Reporter Authorities Say padgett went straight into the locker room near his gym where he shot and killed fellow freshman emilio hoffman. Football coach todd rispler saw what was happening and raced down the hall to sound the alarm. The gunman chasing after him shooting. Look closely at the coachs tshirt there. Thats a bullet hole. The local mayor told me the coachs quick thinking saved lives. So basically the lockdown was hes a hero. Hes a hero. Reporter police say padgetts death was a suicide but whats not yet clear is any motive for this attack. For this community, some tough questions ahead. Police say they found no link between padgett and the student killed and the victim likely surprised him while he was suiting up kind of a wrong place at the wrong time thing. And you always wonder about the family and the background of shooters like him and its said that padgett came from appare apparently a churchgoing family with a long military tradition and planned to enlist. He was a member of the schools junior rotc so yeah, strange little anecdotement they had to build a wooden car for a class project. And he built his wooden car to resemble a bullet. When you look back, you never know. All these things that people try to connect the dots. So sad. All right, a walmart truck driver pleading not guilty to the fatal crash that also injured comedian tracy morgan. Prosecutors say it appears kevin roper who admitted to having not slept in 24 hours may have fallen asleep behind the wheel. Investigators are looking at his commute. He lives in georgia and works in delaware. It was quite a scene in the waters off British Columbia as a fishing boat was engulfed in flames. The two on board escaped along with their dog and got on to a rescue boat and picked up by a whale watching vessel. The fishing boat was completely destroyed. No word yet on what caused the fire. The rain game continues in central texas. The question is what will happen to that luxury house that is dangling over a cliff. The homeowners reported large cracks in their property back in april.
