The 33yearold officer was sitting inside his patrol car when police say a man flagged down the officer before unloading 13 shots hitting the officer three times. The officer returned fire hitting the suspect later arrested. The officer is expected to make meanwhile, here at home, Richland County sheriffs have announced the arrest of a suspect wanted in a december 13th shooting. Sheriff leon lott says their crime lab was able to solve the deadly shooting at a gas station that otherwise may have gone cold. County deputies say the duo walked out of a home on crestview avenue after an attempted burglary attempt only to find the home owners returning blocking their getaway car in the driveway. Investigators say the suspects rammed the car three times before firing a gun at them. No one was hurt. But the two did manage to get away. To the low country now where a judge has denied former North Charleston Police Officer Michael Slagers request for the state funds to help pay for expert witnesses. Slager is charged in the shooting death of walter scott. The judge says that he is not he doesnt have a public appointed attorney. Slager has been out of jail since monday and his trial is set for october 31st. Lexington police are looking for the person responsible for a deadly pedestrian accident.
