Rain. We have abundant cloud cover across the airy and some showers here out to the east of cleveland. In cleveland, its been pretty quiet. But i dont think we will be totally dry all day. Again, we could see some additional moisture developing. Right now we have rain around geauga, southern ashtabula and northern trumbull counties. Around mentor, we do have heavy showers. No lightning with this but it certainly could slow you down if you have to drive through it. This shower east and southeast. If you are joining me from kirtland hills, heads up, i know you have already seen some rain, but a good downpour could move over your area within the necktie to 10 minutes or so. A little bit farther off, middlefield, if you are joining me from portions of Trumbull County on the southern end, if it holds together you could see more rain passing through around 1 00. I think we will be in and out of showers through the afternoon, although a lot of it so far has snowbelt. I do think that we have the potential in other places to see hitormiss showers and thunderstorms. Again, not a washout but as we look ought over that hourbyhour chance of rain through afternoon, a popup shower or thunderstorm at any time and then the chance rapidly falls off after 6 00 tonight. Today the man responsible for the death of David Garrett was in court for sentencing after pleading guilty. Cleveland 19s Paul Orlousky is just back from the Justice Center with all the details. Reporter no doubt about it, its a senseless case of gun violence fueled by a decades long feud between two families. In dispute in court at least, not in dispute, Barry Blevins was the killer. The bad blood between the families had shown through Court Appearances and was evident today as five deputies guarded the courtroom. Barry blevins was killed in october 2014 outside the lavish lounge on west 117 street. A fight started and exactly how or why is in dispute in court. Blevins said he was trying to get out of the dangers way when he fired running away. David garrett was struck in the back. The facts grandmother confronted the man who killed her grandson. Does that make you feel like a man now, all the violence out here . All the guns . Since the death of my grandson, i have been out here trying to advocate with the violence. From us losing loved ones and, you know, we have to go through the judicial system where its just another life gone next case. Reporter heart goes out for her. Years, the maximum for the manslaughter charge. The facts aside, this is a story about the prevelance of guns and young peoples willingness to use them. Heartbreaking situation for this lorain family who says a local hospital lost their Stillborn Babys remains. This happened at mercy Regional Hospital in lorain and the search includes a nearby landfill. The body of the Stillborn Baby has been missing since we know the mom would have been at least 20 weeks pregnant. And oftentimes in these cases, the hospital will release the body to a funeral home for the parents to be able to have a service. At some point in this process, that never happened. Hospitals extending its condolences to the family and is investigating. Tia the ohio Highway Patrol is trying to cut down on fatal traffic crashes around the state. Brian Laura Demaria getting answers on which areas are the problem zones. The ohio state Highway Patrol highlights where the fatal and injury crash densities were over last year and so far, year to date, this year. I want you to take a look at this map because it is pretty obvious where the worst spots were for these accidents that happened. You got cuyahoga, summit county, then the areas that surround columbus. Also cincinnati and toledo. So the areas where you see the red, that is where the majority of accidents actually did occur. Now, over the last five years, this is a pretty startling number here. One in three of crashes that happened in the state of ohio actually happened in the counties that were highlighted here in these red areas including cuyahoga, summit and stark county. Now these are the most dangerous areas. Now also, another interesting fact, drug and drunk driving played a role in 43 of the traffic deaths that happened when you are looking at this map. So, with all of this information, what odot and the ohio state Highway Patrol and other groups have decided they are going to do is they are are going to focus efforts coming up this fall on preventing traffic crashes and hiring increasing patrol in the areas that go into and out of all of these highdensity areas. The American Heart Association reports that younger heart attack survivors may face a premature death from heart disease. According to new research, the risk for heart attack patients, 50 years old and younger, is almost twice as high as the general population. Its going to be stuffy even through the evening hours. Heres a look at the next several hours. I think we are around 80 through about 4 00. And then we will drop to 77 at 6 00.
