Reporter cleveland 19 obtained multiple disks and they have hundreds of clips on them documenting every single minute of shawn grates life behind bars. And one of the things that we notice while he was watching local news, he was watching cleveland 19 when a story about him and his alleged crimes comes on, he is immediately focused with attention. You can see when grate sees that theres a story that bodies were found, the bodies of multiple women, he allegedly killed, he puts down attentively. Arrested three days before this clip and accused of killing multiple women in multiple counties over multiple years, the alleged serial killer now faces multiple counts of aggravated murder. In a solitary jail cell in the Ashland County jail, grate has occasional contact with sheriffs deputies. And in the video weve seen, hes always polite. Police say while in custody, women that he had found god and wanted to clear his conscience. And behind bars, a Constant Companion is his bible. He is seen reading it, even marking in the margins as he whiles away his time. And much of the rest of his time he spends sleeping soundly.
