Stephanie iowa dci investigators searched two homes in the small town of thayer in connection to the death of loretta dillenger. One home was the last known address of the 37yearold. The wreck killed driver Richard Hummel and his best friend and passenger Randy Sonnenburg jack gliem, who police say had a blood alcohol content of. 12, was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication but she was facing a bond amount of only 250 thousand dollars. She posted a portion yesterday, enough to get out of jail. That upsets the sonnenburg family who feels like her bond shouldve been set higher and as cash only. They say its unfair she gets to be home for the holidays when their loved ones are never coming home. I find that the defendent did not prove the defense of insanity. As a result of that, mr. Makuey, youll be judged guilty on count 1 of murder in the first degree. Jack makuey will be sentenced january 4th. He faces life in prison.
