Arrested last night after a four hour standoff with state and local police. According to these criminal complaints filed this morning wanchanic deliberately shot bryon howard and Heather Belieu multiple times while they slept downstairs in the basement of the house they all shared. Belieu was even holding her eight month old infant in her arms when she shot. The complaint says wanchanic went into his stepmothers bedroom, grabbed a gun and shot and killed the victims. He then hid the gun in his room, grabbed a different 9 mm handgun, stole the victims van and left for slater. While we know the details, the motive is still unclear. But in an off camera interview wanchanics wanchanic was depressed and having difficulty handling the First Anniversary of his fathers death. He believes wanchanic just snapped. Claire again, wanchanic is being held on a two Million Dollar cash only bond in polk county jail. Hell have his first appearance before a judge tomorrow morning well bring you the latest updates. A shed on fire in marshalltown tuesday. Around 1 yesterday, marshalltown fire got the call for the fire on 12th avenue. Crews put the fire out, and police then arrested the teenager. The 16 year old has been charged with arson. No injuries were reported. The estimated damage is at 25 hundred dollars. Stephanie an iowa farmer is recovering after losing four thousand hogs in a fire tuesday night. It happened in wellman late last night, just west of kalona. The controller at Brenneman Pork says everything seemed fine last night, but then he got a call that a hog building was on fire. No one was inside at the time. The epa is choosing chose not to go with the higher amount of ethanol requested from producers and a group of lawmakers. Ethanol is a Huge Industry in iowa, grassley noted this week. A brand new ethanol plant was built in newton. Its the largest of its kind. Renewable fuels continue to dominate gas pumps across the state. Where it really hurts ethanol is not immediately, but move to use cellolosic ethanol beyond 15 billion gallons. And thats gotta come from corn stalks and other cellulose. Refiners will be required to blend a little more than 18 billion gallons of Renewable Fuels in 2016, which is actually more than what the epa proposed back in may. And about 3 point6 billion gallons of advanced biofuels like the Cellulosic Ethanol from the plant in newton will be mandated for next year. Despite the new standards, the iowa Renewable Fuels association announced today that its installing an extra 187 blender pumps throughout the state.
