A man was shot and killed just before midnight on lands end road. Right now no arrest in the case. The investigators are not releasing the victims name pending notification of his family. Also this morning, a durham teenager scheduled to be back deported back to his home country of honduras. And acosta was taken into custody by federal agents earlier this year. Since then the 19yearolds friends, family and classmates have all protested, rallied and even holding vigils seeking his release. Congressman butterfield says he reached out to the director of the imgrigs and Customs Enforcement who told him she will not intervene on acostas behalf. Accused of shooting her own father. As cbs North Carolina reports, the disturbance has a lot of neighbors shaken and confused. Reporter this is the reserve at Magnolia Ridge apartment complex. This is a very quiet neighborhood. Reporter but saturday morning was a very different story. We actually heard the loud gunshots from our apartment. Reporter and uneasy that you wouldnt expect it to happen here. Reporter the Police Responded to the complex around 8 00 a. M. They say the 21yearold Angel Bradford and her boyfriend were arguing. And there was an active scene going on outside when we got here, and our officers secured the area. Reporter the police say angel asked her father to come over, but the police say their conversation turn entered a struggle and angel shot her father. We also called in our Crises Negotiating Team to talk with one of the subjects. Reporter anytime anytime there is a gun involved, anyone can be in danger. Reporter several residents others were urged to stay inside. It is very scary and you wonder if youre safe in your neighborhood. Reporter the police say the residents are now safe. Angel bredford is facing a felony charge. In cary, cbs North Carolina. Kari police say cary police say their investigation is ongoing at this hour. If you have any information about this incident, call the Police Department. And a fayetteville husband and wife are dead in what the police are calling a murder suicide. The officers say the 60year old green shot his wife gluer why and then turned the gun on himself. Authorities were conducting a welfare check friday night when they discovered the couples bodies at a home on jones street. And also in fayetteville, the Police Believe they have solved the cold case dating back six years. Kenneth green was killed in 2010 at a home, and the detectives arrested growns wife, denise, and another man, anthony herds. The police say the hernandez. The police say the two were having an affair at the time. All three were working for state troopers are looking for the motorist involved in a deadly hit and run crash down in moore county. Matthew phillips died friday after being hit by a vehicle on put numb church road near state highway 226789 the 24year olds body was found in the driveway of a neighbors home. State troopers are asking anyone with information about the driver who left the scene or the crash itself to give them a call. And a tense we could of campaigning as protestors from arizona to new york organized against republican front runner donald trump. As we report, all of this comes as voters in three more states head to the poll this is tuesday. The investigators say Angel Bradford got into a struggle with her dad that ended with a shot fired. Her dad was taken to the hospital for treatment. She now faces an assault with a Deadly Weapon charge. And one person is dead after a hitandrun accident in moore county. The victim, 24yearold Matthew Phillips was hit by a vehicle late friday night on put numb church road. His body was found in the drive wii of a home he was supposed to be visiting. No arrests have been made at this hour. President obama is in cuba this morning becoming the first sitting u. S. President to he landed in havana to kick start his twoday visit. No word if the police will file charges in connection with the possible meth lab investigation. The investigators say they found evidence of the meth lab in a home on hob street. Officers went to the house after a woman living there ended up at the hospital after drinking something they said had chemicals in it. The neighbors say they had no idea. And im very shocked. I have children and theres a lot of stuff around here that i cant wait to get out of the neighborhood. Now the police say the woman who went to the hospital is expected to be okay. The first possible case of a treatment resistant lice has been reported in edge comb county near wilson a woman suspects her daughter may have gotten the socalled super lice while attending car veer Elementary School in pine tops. The educators have confirmed one child at the school had lice, but also said the situation was under control and but that is not what mom is saying. Jenny johnson said her daughter was never sent home an has come back twice in the last month with lice. She wants to get the parasite tested by the health department. Austin police are investigating after an officer was caught on tape using pepper spray on a man already in handcuffs. The incident happened as crowds gathered in the downtown area for the very popular south by southwest film and music fest. The Police Association released a statement urging everyone not to rush to judgment. Others, though, attending the festival say the officers actions were shocking and wrong. The cop committed a crime. It is clear as day. There is absolutely no justification for it. This officer should be arrested and charged for assault. It is not clear why the officer took the suspect into custody to begin with. Jo and a noonprofit in North Carolina is helping veterans tattoo therapy. Operation tattooing Freedom Works with tattoo artists to provide free tattoos to veterans, especially those suffering from anxiety or posttraumatic stress disorder. The Charity Organizer says connecting with the fellow veteran who is also a tattoo artist helped him out. And i realized that getting the tattoo and having the conversation with another veteran while im getting it was extremely therapeutic for me and i realized that if it worked for me, then it would work for others. Helping out any way he can. The nonprofit is working to get donations in order to expand operation tattooing freedom nationwide. The police are investigating a nasty car accident that sent one person to the hospital. The investigators say an suv swerved off of ramsey street just after 5 00 a. M. And crashed into a utility pole. The driver is in serious condition at cape fear valley medical center. The southbound vehicle or southbound lanes rather of ramsey street near hillsboro street are down to one lane, so you can expect to see some delay this is morning. And cbs North Carolina has new information about the Raleigh Police shooting death of a man. The wake County District attorney say as bullet hole found friday in a home near the shooting is not connected to the incident. Cbs North Carolina spoke to the familys attorney and she also has more from the raleigh Police Department. Reporter the familys the authorities took the time and looked into this, but they tell me this is just part part just one part of their on comboing, independent ongoing independent investigation. Reporter the attorneys said they found no evidence, a possible bullet hole near where the 24yearold was shot and killed by police. Authorities responded and saturday we learned the results. In a statement wake County District attorney Lauren Freeman said after examination, investigators concluded the evidence tended to show the hole was not related to this incident. We were grateful that they responded so quickly, and it appeared to me that they looked very carefully at that hole from the outside, and they went inside, which is something that we had not had the opportunity. Reporter scott holmes is one of the attorneys working an independent of the death. The fbi and Raleigh Police are also conducting investigations. But the family and Community Activists have been critical of their findings so far. There are some really between what witnesses have said, the physical evidence at the scene, the shootings, the trajectories at the scene on the back porch, and the wounds to the body. Reporter holmes says their independent autopsy shows he was shot in the back. According to the initial police report, he was shot four times in the chest, shoulder and both arms. But the District Attorney has the declined to say whether the shots were to his important or back body. We actually havent seen that independent autopsy. Why is that . Well, it would be important to have the medical examiners report to look at and compare with the forensic analysis that we did. Roar holmes say that the medical examiner had more access to information. It has been nearly three weeks since this shooting and they say the femme and the Community Just wants answers. In raleigh, cbs North Carolina. Right now more county publics help finding a missing woman. According to the aberdeen times, jessica gagway was last sone on march 10. She is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She drive as black 2008 acura with n. C. Plate numbers c. N. X. 9494. Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call police. Family and friends of two men who died at the Durham County jail held a vigil saturday. It is the second time this month the group has gathered near the jail, but as cbs North Carolina reports, this event was much different than the last. Reporter all that could be heard was the sound of footsteps and the music. We are trying to show people, the community, that matthew and dennis and the other people inside the jail are actually people. Reporter a volunteer from insideoutside alliance, the group that fights for rights of people in jail and their families. He tells me he knows what it is behind bars. He tells me his father was incarcerated for most of his life. He says people behind bars may have made a mistake, but theyre still human. The group marched hoping to breast cancerdown the criminal stereotypes of both Dennis Mcmurray and matthew mccain, the two men who died inside of the jail. He is our goof ball. Very loving. He loved his family, kids. He is missed. Reporter ashley kenly led the march alongside blakeney. Kennedy is the give of matthew mccain. Mccain died in jail back in january. He held her daughter against her chest, the daughter she tells me mccain never got to meet. People are dying because theyre not getting what they need. Reporter the marchers met at the jail, the same spot as a protest earlier this month, but this one was completely different. He is not forgotten. Reporter rather tan blocking the streets, the group said prayers an released balloons into the air, asking mcmurray who say they were neglected. According to the Durham County Sheriffs Office, they say the cues of death in mchurrys case was a drug overdose. As for as mccains case, the Sheriffs Office has released this statement. They say we are investigating as we have done so in previous cases. We want to provide the family with answers as soon as possible, however, thorough and complete investigations require time to produce credible answers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to mr. Spca has spent the last several weeks getting them all back to good new places to call home and gets lots of love. An update as veterinarians in that area are now testing pets for lead. You may remember that earlier this year the city began testing children for lead poisoning in response to lead being present in drinking water. Now the vets are asking the owners to get their pets tested if they were begin some of that same water. They will continue marching on today to complete a 770 million mile jury journey from flu fra. The group is honoring search marines and four guardsmen who died after their blackhawk helicopter crashed in a training mission. The march is expected to continue or end rather tomorrow. And rush i dont know authorities are trying to figure out what caused a horrific passenger jet crash this morning a Security Camera captured the final moments of fly dubai flight 981 just two hours before the boeing 737 was set to land 600 miles outside of moscow.
