And we saw in the video and it will be light in nature. And the mild temperatures will be the dominant feature during the parade. To put in perspective for you. Normal is 62 degrees. And that is where we should be for the afternoon highs. And were there right now, 59 in louisburg and 59 in henderson and 56 in south hill and roanoke rapids. Checking in around 60 so the best chance of showers will be from noon today and the temperatures will climb to 67. And well make the leap into the 70s, 71 at 2 00 and back to 71 by 6 00. If you have outdoor activities, they should be dry. However, it will be cloudy today. So we had a cold front drop across the area yesterday and we saw a few extra clouds and isolated shower yesterday afternoon and that is sitting stationary front. And this will be moving across the area as we head towards the rest of the weekend. So a few showers this morning as this moves off to the north. And tomorrow a better chance for rain in the afternoon. So heres what im thinking. The future forecast showing the the isolated shower. And dont expect to see a lot of sunshine. Well start off the day dry. But as we start off the day, an isolated shower at noon and the weekend long is going to be tomorrow afternoon. Cloudy skies and a few a. M. Showers. 77 in littleton. Yesterday we hit 80. 75 in rocky mount and 76 in wilson. 73 in wake county and durham and chapel hill. And tonight mainly cloudy and patchy fog could develop as we drop into the upper 50s. And ill let you know when the warmer temperature arrive in a little bit. Today is the last day to early vote ahead of North Carolinas primary on tuesday. And we checked out one of the busiest early sites. Lakeland Community Center and the line winding down the sidewalk. And those working the location said it was the busiest day so far but they expect today will be busier. And coming early is worth it. I wanted to make sure that i had my right to cast my vote. Today is the last day for and the sites will close at 1 00 p. M. Cumberland county man charges with punching the protester at the donald trump rally is out of jail. They charged john mcgraw with assault and disorderly conduct. And the video that he may have to kill the protester. We went to his home yesterday and no one was there. And neighbors said they were surprised when they saw the video. I guess he heard something that he didnt like or whatever. But i didnt think he would punch somebody going up the steps, especially when they were getting escorted out. He is scheduled for his First Court Appearance in court on april 6th. A double murder has left a family temperaturing for answers this morning in Johnston County. They found matt jones and a woman dead inside a home on unity drive in newton drove. And the 2yearold son was the lack of answers. The worst part, not knowing anything, how this happened when it happened, why it happened. So far no arrests. A durham man is recovering this morning after someone attacked him at a bus stop and threw him in the streets t happened in broad daylight just before 2 00 p. M. Yesterday in the every holloway and rochelle street. And during the assault assault, the victim was knocked into a passing car and the injuries are not life threatening. So far no arrests have made. Our lives are filled with high tech convensz. But conveniences but one has a deadly. The button and youre ready to drive. This simple change has endangered peoples live. It was alarming. I just saw a lot of people laying on the ground. Reporter when the people got to the home, they didnt realize what was happening. It all started with a 911 call. I just happened to be driving down the road. Rearview mirror when the officers got her, they didnt know what they were walking into. They started to feeling sick and disoriented. One officer doesnt remember how he got out of the house. Eyes were burning and they knew something was wrong. Reporter it turns out the home was full of poison nice Carbon Monoxide. That wasnt clear because the car had been moved. He left the car running all night in the garage, and unaware that he had not turned it off. It is when people push the this was and unfortunate situation he was not familiar with his daughters car. If they would have had a Carbon Monoxide in the house, that would have hopefully alerted the people. All the people were survived. They were very lucky that no fatalities. Reporter other people have not been as lucky. In 2012, a man died after leaving his car running in the garage. Kids and cars said that across the country, 19 people have died under similar circumstances. We like that see the automatic shut down fail safe. Reporter they brought a lawsuit against toyota after an incident in 2009. A College Professor parked her car and took her keys inside and did not realize that she left the car running. And sometimes i wish i had. Reporter she suffered permanent brain damage and her companion was killed. Most manufacturers are not warning about the problem. Reporter and we went to the ntsb. And in 2011, they issued a proposed rule to require alarm systems calling this a clear safety problem. And in 2016, the rule was still just a proposal. And the agency was due to make it final but a spokeswoman said that will not happen yet. And what asked why, they said that the agency is considering the Public Comment as they determine a fix with the systems. And we tested out different systems and how they alert people when they walk away. The ford edge blasts and alert on the dashboard and honks twice. And the hyundai emitted this all of them kept running. So there is not a standard. Reporter Steven Phillips is the Traffic Safety manager. But new evidence may set him free. Human remains found under a bridge that may be that a missing Virginia Tech student. And ohio judge said that 17 yearolds can vote in tuesdays ohio primary. The judge said that the officials that said they could not were wrong. He said that the law banning 17 yearold from voting has been clear for 30 years and appeals for the ruling is scheduled for monday. Crews working under a West Virginia bridge may have decades old case. They think it may belong to robert covac who disappeared in 1998. His abandoned vehicle found on route 19 days after he disappeared from campus. The police are investigating. A popular football coach is serving life in prison for killing his wife. But in a new twist, lawyers said that previously hidden evidence could free him. We the jury find the david, David Mark Temple guilty of murder. Reporter david temple is serving life for killing his wife in their home and she was eight months pregnant. Who is david temple . He said a man that nobody ever said no to. Convicted without any hard evidence linking him to the crime. Theres no evidence that points towards me because i did not kill my wife. Reporter in 2012 investigator steve clapper looked into the case and what he found questioned him everything. Do you believe that he is an innocent man . I believe did he not kill his wife. Reporter clapper discovered evidence in the old Police Reports that he thought pointed to another suspect. Temples attorneys said what clapper unearthed was critical information, never before seen by the defense. It was hidden. Reporter who hid it . Seeing letter hid it and she hit it well. Reporter but the prosecutor kelly seglers Trial Attorney got everything that to get when he was supposed to get it. This is the subject of a 48 hours investigation. And cbs North Carolina beau minnick talked with the investigation. Was is a burglary gone bad or is the husband to blame . It is a case that we have been covering for nine years now. And there have been recent developments in this case, richard, it is in the news yet again. Reporter it is a brat dramatic development. A fairly conservative judge in texas is recommending that david get a new trial. He said saying that the defense was denied information that could have helped mr. Temple bet acquitted. I should say that the prosecution in this case is vigorously defending their disagreeing with the judge what makes this such an interesting story you have a powerful and talented lawyers on both sides going at it. And this thing will unfold for you this evening. And many folks may recognize the woman that we saw, kelly segler from the show called justice. How much of this is about her investment as a prosecutor and how much of this is just a bad defense . Were talking about 1400 pages of Police Reports not shared. Reporter you put your finger on the main issue there. And the deselfdefense saying that that kelly did not give them information that they needed to affectively represent their client. And she is saying that they did not get the work. They got everything that they were entitled to get and they just didnt do their job well enough. Prosecutor that ive kelly is a prosecutor that ive been following for years and she is as tough as you can get. So these are two lawyers that you dont argue with lightly and to see them argue with each other is a treat if youre into courtroom drama. It will be interesting to see how this develops. Winds will calm down and i think we could see some fog as we start off our sunday morning and sunday afternoon. And then a better chance for rain.
