Reporter it happened at the new home of the Fire Department. Equipment that fell, a genere ator generator. And it is still on scene behind me here. The Fire Department and the Police Department have wrapped up the scene. The immediate danger here is gone, but the investigation into what happened is just beginning. The hefty generator lay at the scene for much of the day, still attached to the crane. Firefighters trying to figure out how to safely remove it. One worker was killed, crushed by the generator as they were trying to left it earlier in the day. Oh my god. Weve been seeing the construction there, but an accident like that thats just its horrible. Reporter the news was jarring for folks in the area. The construction workers have been building a new home base for the Fire Department. Investigators say workers were using the crane to lift the generator into the building. A strap snapped. The generator fell, crushing two construction workers below. We know all the guys. And theyre happy to move into and this is just a horrible thing to happen in the construction of the new property. Its heartbreaking. So sad. Its terrible. Reporter Officials Say one worker died on scene. Another was injured. But what exactly went wrong here is not clear. Why did the strap break . Was the load simply too heavy . Osha has an inspector on scene working to get answers. I think accidents happen, you know . No matter what, there could be, you know, malfunctions with the equipment. But accidents happen. Reporter the Crane Company here is called city erectors. We learned that osha did issue them a serious safety violation back in 2009. Middle sex county Law Enforcement Officials Say they found child pornography on a computer used by a High School History teacher. Police say they found porn last official contacted them. No word on whether anybody in the images on that computer is linked to the school. Fbi agents search a home that belongs to the brother of the San Bernardino gunman syed farook. Shes gone through blood transfusions,ive transfusions, i. V. Fluids, medications, en medications. Shes really been through the ringer. She still needs eye surgery. But once she gets a clean bill of health shell be up for adoption in just a few weeks. Dogs are amazing.
