The Pew Research Center tackles the hot button social issues of the day. Among the highlights, 65 of catholics say couples who live together before getting married are not committing a sin and think its okay for samesex couples to raise children. On abortion, a third of the catholics surveyed say terminating a pregnancy is not a sin. That finding follows the popes announcement tuesday that for the year of mercy starting in december, any woman with a contrite heart can go to confession and be for given for an abortion by any priest, which actually already happens in the united states.
