Right now, the nypd searching for a driver who stabbed a man during a fit of road rage. This started on east 61st street on the Upper East Side and ended when the victim crashed on 76th street. We have the a look attthe clues police are hoping will help them solve this case. Reporter i between two drivers turned violent here on east 61st street near new york avenue. I think its a terrible thing. And i think that road rage has gotten out of control. Reporter the victim, a 45yearold man, was driving this gray toyota. At about 11 00 last night, he and the driver of a blue ford got out of their cars and argued. The driver of the blue ford stabbed the other driver, the victim tried to drive to the hospital, but he only made it 20 blocks until he crashed in this mercedes. All i can say is were upstairs and now were trying to figure out how to get back to washington. Reporter police are still searching for the driver who left the scene. They say he has dreadlocks and his blue ford had rhode island license plates. As for the victim, hes in stable condition at the hospital. Tomorrow, we will hear from the partner of an nypd off ier killed in a fire on coney island. He was 16 years old when police say he set a mattress on fire in a coney island apartment building. Two officers were among the first to arrive in the building and they were overcome by smoke. One died. Rodriguez survived and will testify in court tomorrow. Dock heery is charged with murder. Black women in bergen county. Lizette parker was the first black woman to serve as mayor in the county pointed in july of 2014. She served on the Township Council since 2006. Parker died at Holy Name Medical Center today. Just the age of 44. Fellow politicians said parker had been suffering from an illness. She leaves behind a husband and a daughter. An altercation between Church Members turned deadly in the middle of a sunday service. This happened in north wales, pennsylvania. Tw men were fighting in the sanctuary of the Nondenominational Church when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other. Police are trying to determine if the shooting was justified. Police have identified t teenager who shot two students as they lef their high school program. 18yearold jacob wagner came to rifle and started shooting saturday night. An officer patrolling the parking lot immediately shot wagner. He died about two hours later. One of wagners friends told police the teen had recently broke up with a girl who attended that school. Its disturbing. You really think your kids are safe at school and you turn your back and theyre not. Reporter a 14yearold boy with autism ran off from a community event. He was missing for two hours. They found him a mile away on the coney island beach. He was naked and waist deep in the water. Now parents are asking how he was able to run off. I dont know whether the parent where the parents were or the teachers were. Its horrible. It just shows lack of responsibility for those in charge of the event. Thtoey should be monitoring the kids. Oquendo ran off from a Queens School and later drowned. Senator Chuck Schumer announced avontes law is moving forward in congress. It would require gps tracking bracelets on everyone with autism. If everyone with autism had one of these bracelets or the device sewn into their clothes, . We could find them right away and prevent death. Lead in the water inif newark schools. We used federal data to map high lead levels across the area. We went back several years and put a dot on the map for every high lead test at a new york, new jersey, or Connecticut Water system and we found high lead levels have been recorded in surprising places. Program, even an agricultural facility that produces food. About an hour and a half west of manhattan, youll find ise farms, one of the biggest egg producers in new jersey. Its a favorite target of Animal Rights rights activists who captured these videos of hens housed in cruel conditions, but they also have a troubled history of water inspections, including a violation last year for lead levels three times the epa threshold. That leaves Grocery Shoppers wondering if the hens could have consumed lead tainted water. Reporter the last years high lead test came from a womens bathroom in the farm office. When the faucet was retested, the levels went back down, but conclusively if the water used to hydrate these hens are lead free only because faucets used by humans are tested. The water supply on this egg farm is just one of dozens of tristate Water Systems where the iteam found at least one high lead reading in recent years. We plotted all the Water Systems on this map. The bigger the dot, the higher the lead reading over 15 parts per billion. Thats the federal threshold. You are doing a Tremendous Service putting these places on a map for people to see. Reporter John Jay College professor is a historian who wrote lead wars. He said this map could be a useful tool because people may be unaware of smaller Water Systems with high lead levels. The big municipal Water Systems attention, but he argues that governments should also apply pressure to privatelyowned wells. We would require them to replace lead lines and fixtures and they bear the cost of that. Reporter the state has asked owners to install a pump that will flush the water with a chemical that reduces lead. The farm has two years to install that pump. If waterhramples continue to show low lead levels, the farm can cancel the plans for the pump. The dep has issued violations for e. Coli and asbestos in the water here. The farm is now back in compliance. Its not clear in the hens ever consumed any of those toxins or why they showed up in the first place. F the testing simply tells you that there is a problem. Then you need to investigate its unclear how much lead ns would have to consume for the toxin to make it into their eggs, but a study by Iowa State University found lead made it into egg yolks after hens consumed lead paint chips. Reporter if all the right elements came into play, sure a doomsday like scenario is ausible, but they insist the Forest Fire Service and all of its partners are more than these forest fire guys are absolute professionals. They work every day planning for that big fire and what would they do. Reporter the dep says more than 17,000 acres were intentionally set ablaze in prescribed burns this season as a way to prevent wildfires. If you look historically, were about ready.
