i'm adam may. that officer has now turned himself in. and wjz gets the book inpaper work for tashambe. >> reporter: after a 24 hour man hunt, city officer tashambe turned himself into central booking. the officer stands charged with the murder of tyrone brown outside of a mount vernon nightclub last week. a spokesperson says they plan to argue the officer be held without bail. >> any life lost is tragic. the circumstances surrounding this young man are particularly disturbing. >> reporter: the circumstances found in this statement. saying that brown was unarmed. he was shot 12 times. >> that's ridiculous to shoot that many shots at a an unarmed young man when he's at close range. >> he survived the war in iraq to come home and die. >> reporter: the victim unappropriately touched tashambe's girlfriend. tashambe refused to take a breathalyzer test. he's charged with murder if convicted, that's a crime that may carry the charge of life. trooper first class wesley brown was killed early friday morning while working security at an applebees restaurant. a person of interest has been located and is being held but not on charges related to the murder. together police and governor martin o' malley have offered a reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman. >> we ask the public if they have any information at all to please come forward. >> new at 11:00, we hear from a nurse that was at that restaurant as officer brown was gunned down. she is devastated that she was not able to help. >> i tried to help, i'm very sorry i wasn't able to do anything to help him. >> reporter: first class trooper brown died in this young nurses arms. >> he had a very weak pulse, i tried to console him and i said i'm sorry. when i started the compressions, i checked for a pulse again and there was no pulse. >> reporter: shelley who works at a local hospital was at the local applebbe's when brown stumbled in after what police are calling an ambush. >> i could see someone sprawled out on the floor. and you know just kicked in, i'm a registered nurse and i initiated cpr. there wasn't a second thought, i just you know you have to help. >> reporter: the 28-year-old oncology nurse says she knew the risk of providing mouth to mouth to a bloody patient without protection. >> for a split second i thought about it, but as a woman of god and a human being, and someone who helps people every day, if it were me, if it were my family i would hope somebody would do the same. >> reporter: shelley wants the trooper's family to know that brown was surrounded with love as he died. >> everybody that was around him cared. they didn't know him but they cared. a cecil county man faces murder charges tonight for the death of his wife. police responded to a pretty gruesome scene in elton where the body of ashley castillo was found on the floor. 24-year-old jason was near by with a knife in his hands and slits in his wrist. he's been arrested and an autopsy is being done on his wife. a major vehicle accident backed up traffic for hours. state police say the single vehicle crash near elton road sent eight people to the hospital. one by emergency helicopter. no word on the victim's condition tonight. well it is john hopkins to the rescue. the university and hospitals are giving baltimore city more than $10 million to help close the city's budget gap. in return the hospitals in the city will not face that controversial bed tax of $350 per year per bed. a total of 10 hospitals and five universities in colleges will contribute $20 million over the next few years. mayor blake says she is grateful for the donation. people at george hill park struggled to stay cool with more than 90-degree temperatures on a lot of thermometers around the state. looking live outside, it is still pretty muggy out there. let's check in with meteorologist bernadette woods. it was a cooker today, bern. >> it was. summer out there, you felt it as soon as you walked out the door. we're going to hang on to this for a little longer. but the temperatures are winding down. there were a few warmer across the state. although we could see another round get under way tomorrow. as you look out to the west. there's a few different more parts of the this storm that are lined up. they will be moving in our direction and that will play into this forecast. in a few different ways, one of them is relief. so we'll have that forecast coming up, adam. >> all right, bernadette, thank you. one more body found in an arkansas campground. 19 people are now confirmed dead. crews are still searching for more missing persons. some flash floods sent a 20- foot wall of water to the recreational center, sweeping away tents and leveling down trees. today efforts were split between searching for survivors and beginning to clean up all the debris. >> there are some rescue dogs that are on foot at the campground looking at those today. there are some crews that are working on debris piles, that's the newest information that we have. they are trying to dismantle the debris piles by hand. >> and the families of the victims were taken through the campground trying to pick up their loved ones property. alabama white sand beaches endured their worse weekend yet of oil sweeping on the shore. sunday, double red flags warned the visitors to stay out of the water. >> i have to have hope that it will get better, that they'll be able to stop it. but haven't heard that yet. we just can't let it die. >> reporter: president obama arrives here in alabama on monday. along with the anger over the oil that's covering this coastline, he's also going to get an ear full. to cover what will be billions in damage claims. the president will press bp executives to create a special account of cash reserves. >> our mission here is to hold them accountable in every appropriate way. >> reporter: the latest government estimate is 190 million-gallons of oil spilled so far into the gulf. but the estimates keep changing so the government is now using an independent sensor for a more accurate reading. >> we think we need to look at the estimates made. >> reporter: the president south carolina igniting a farm full of gasoline tanks and forces two major highways to shut down. the video here just incredible. the tanker was holding 20,000- barrels of refined petroleum. that huge fire ball could be seen for four miles. firefighters were eventually able to put that gasoline out using a special foam. no one was hurt. a bus filled with doctors and nurses fell into a ravine. we have an update tonight on van der sloot. we're learning originally told police a thief killed 21-year- old stephanie florez. initially claimed that a pair of robbers with weapons surprised him and florez in his hotel room in peru. the dutchman later confessed to killing florez. >> we're vulnerable and easy to be taken. >> natalie holloway disappeared in the island of aruba. van der sloot says that he knows where natalie's body is, but aruba's prosecutor says he is skeptical. israel has rejected a u.n. proposal to an investigation but now has agreed. new details tonight in the death investigation into nelson mandela's great granddaughter. according to mandela's office, a family friend was driving the car in which his great granddaughter nina was riding in. the driver has been returned home in march. it was a weekend filled with beehives and pink flamingos. today marked day three of the annual hunt fest. it was a hot one for it too, hundreds came out sporting the hann look 86 in dc and 80 out in cumberland. so this hot air is going to stick around for one more day. we'll get to that in a moment. the winds were up out of the northwest a little today. tomorrow, we saw a little bit of wind. we're still going to be in the same pattern with the wind pat pattern to the north. what that means is lock up the cooler air. this is the pattern for tomorrow, however we have another storm coming our way which will knock this out temporarily and give us relief tuesday and wednesday. when we open it up to the satellite radar, you can see there's a series of storms running down that track. but this one down here is what's going to break that cold front. tomorrow, still the chance for some late day showers and thunderstorms with the heat. but then we get a little bit of a break because of this high coming down and pushing down that storm track. while that's happening, we see a storm to the west. then as this front comes through on wednesday, still not that hot out here but the chance for a few showers. when the storm clears, we go back up into the heat. out in the waters, winds outs of the west at 10 knots. tomorrow not all that hot. tonight we're going to be a very muggy one. only going down to 70 degrees. tomorrow we recover to 92. it is going to be muggy and very uncomfortable out there. chance for thunderstorms, just scattered ones. then we get a bit of
