Georgetown universitys head Womens Basketball coach keith brown is speaking at a pep rally beside his team. More than a year later, going into his second season, brown has been pulled as the hoyas coach. Sources tell abc7 news the complaints were recently made again browns, his use of disrespectful language used at his players will no longer be tolerated. They released a statement that reads, in part, questions were raised about unprofessional conduct and inappropriate language in coaching the georgetowns Womens Basketball team. As soon as we learned of this, the university started an investigation. Head coach keith brown and Tim Valentine are on administration leave. No word why Tim Valentine is on leave, but we hear that coach brown commonly used swearing and humiliating language and tactics to get results. Players have left and more may follow. Students we spoke with are hopeful the university will conduct a thorough and fair investigation. Hate to hear it is happening on our campus, especially in place i feel that women are welcome. Tough coaching works but not when it is demeaning or offensive in any way. Late tuesday night, a number of members of the Womens Basketball team came to us and say they want to defend coach brown. They say he is tough, they admit that, but they say he is fair and this investigation is overblown. I think any program is going to have a coach that is intense and ready to play and want us to play. I think a lot of this is blown out of proportion and is unnecessary. It is never towards a player. It is just from the situation. If you messed up, you messed up. Just trying to get his point across, trying to help you not do it again. Trying to make sure that you know what you did and so you dont do it again. And those players we spoke with say they just want their coaches back. The season starts in only about five weeks.
