Everyone said she made a good speech yesterday. I dont get it. I dont get it. Reporter trump also stirred new controversy at the end of wednesdays debate by linking childhood vaccines to autism. And weve had so many instance, people that work for me just the other day, 2 years old, 2 1 2 years old, a beautiful child went to have the vaccine and came back a week later got a tremendous fever, got very, very sick, now is autistic. Now, the association of the American Academy of pediatricians says that trumps statements on vaccines are irresponsible and untrue and disproven. As for those comments in response to that question, george, the Trump Campaign says that trump was reacting to what that person said about Training Camp, terrorist Training Camps, not what he said about muslims or the president. Fascinating, one, we know the ennice yachl of people involved out in the country want to take turns in this. The newest twist and turn is the carly and donald show but a race between Carly Fiorina and donald trump and the vetting of each other businesss record in the course of this. I think this is an interesting time for donald trump. Hes never faced a public battle with a woman like this before, unless divorce papers were involved, that hes had to deal with somebody thats confronting him on a number of issues. Right, so both he and carly will face more questions about their record. The other candidates just trying to stay in the game at this point. Joseph meeks seen here in an abc news interview done the day after his roommate allegedly gunned down nine africanamericans in a Charleston Church now accused of knowing the attack was coming but not informing authorities. He said that he thought that the black the black in general as a race was bringing down the white race. Reporter the fbi arresting meek thursday and sources say hes also being charged with misleading federal investigators in interviews in the hours after the murders. He told me these things and i just i tried to talk him out of it and id always try to fight against it. Reporter meek insisted to the media he never believed roof would actually harm anyone. Well get the latest on Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier who walked off his base in afghanistan held captive by the taliban for five years back in a military courtroom today facing possible life in prison for charges that he put his fellow soldiers at risk. For the first time were hearing incredible detail about what happened after Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his outpost in afghanistan and was captured by the taliban. Bowe bergdahls release 18 months ago after five brutal years in captivity brought tears of relief for bergdahl as he was told he was headed home. But it brought controversy, as well. In a military courtroom thursday where bergdahl faces charges of desertion and endangering the lives of his fellow soldiers, those who served with him in afghanistan talkeds of the desperate, dangerous search launched after bergdahl disappeared from his outpost in 2009. The prosecutor saying thousands of soldiers toiled in the heat and misery combing the mountains of eastern afghanistan for 45 days. In antibioticle testimony Clinton Baker said it was overwhelming. Helicopters shot at. Soldiers injured by ieds, vehicles destroyed. There was someone trying to kill them the whole time. It was gut wrenching said another. Bergdahls platoon leader, john billi billi billings said for the first time in nye career i had lost a soldier. I felt almost as if i had failed my men. The majority of those looking for bergdahl having no idea at the time he had walked away from the outpost on his own. Bergdahls attorney has said he was not trying to desert, he was just trying to report disturbing activities in his unit. Bergdahls attorneys seem to be making a case he never should have been allowed in the army saying he had to be given a waiver to even join because of what they called a severe mental disease. Robin. Now to that little boy and the School Bus Driver who jumped into action when the bus crashed foo a lake. Abcs linsey davis has the story. Reporter this morning, a 10yearold and his bus driver are being hailed as heroes after this school bus carrying Elementary School students crashed then careened into this lake outside tampa thursday afternoon. I seen him stepping on the brakes but the brakes werent working and everyone started creaming. Reporter the bus taking down a sign post and part of a tree before flipping on its side in the water. He said, hold on tight and figured out what he was trying to say when it was bumping like crazy but it was too late. Literally it was too fast. Couldnt grab on. Reporter parents and First Responders rushing to the scene but all 27 students and the driver managed to escape through the rear emergency door, all making it out uninjured thanks in part to one young boy on board. Springing into action. I gabbed a kindergartners arms and i put her around my neck and i dragged her to land and then i went back. Reporter witnesses also calling the bus driver a hero saying the 64yearold man stayed on the bus until every child got out safely. Investigators now working to determine the exact cause of the crash. Well begin with our abc news exclusive. Those two High School Football players who blindsided a ref now suspended facing calls for criminal charges right here on gma after the latest on their case. This is the moment two Football Players appeared to intentionally target a referee caught on camera under the friday night lights of texas High School Football earlier this month. Watch victor rojas from John Jay High School make a beeline for the ref then Michael Moreno dives into him head first. Theyre now suspended from the team and school and matt breed is on leave after telling the players this guy needs to pay for cheating us. The players were feeling lots of frustration by what they perceived to be missed or wrong calls by the refs. The players also allege racial slurs were directed at them by the umpire. An allegation watts attorney denied to abcs t. J. Holmes. Did he use a racial slur on that field at any point that night. Mr. Watts, he did not. They are flat out lying. Thats correct. They are flat out lying. While police in marble falls, texas, continue a criminal investigation into the incident the referee is considering taking his own legal action against the players. Victor, i just want to know what was going through your mind at that moment . I didnt i dont i cant explain. You cant explain. You just werent thinking . I was doing what i was told. When it was happening i just realized the gravity of the situation, you know like this was actually happening and like i couldnt fully go through with it so like at the end i pulled up a lot like knowing whats actually like going on and it was just it was hard for me, you know, during the whole thing just to actually do what i did and, you know, to this day i regret it. Its one of my biggest regrets and its been affecting my life greatly now. Victor said your coach told you to do it. Yes, thats correct. What did he say . Well, before, you know, i had got put into the game the previous safety that was in, he had got injured and while on the sideline he pulled me and another player over and he told us and i quote, you need to hit him. Another player said this. No, no, the coach. The coach. He pulled me and another player and told us you need to hit the ref. He needs to pay the price . For what . Just for everything thats been going on in the game. There was racial slurs being thrown at, you know, players, from this referee. There was, you know, unjustified calls. You know, it was just a lot going on and i guess his emotions got, you know, mixed into it and he told us to do what we did. A lot of people would say, boy, the coach told you to do that but you knew it was wrong, right . You put your trust into this, you know, grownup, a guardian, your coach whos been there since for me since my sophomore freshman year and, you know, i trusted him. You know that he wants the best for me and i just do did what i was told. The referee as you know has said he didnt use any racial slurs. Did you hear the referee use any racial slurs. Yes, sir, he told one of my hispanic friends, he told him speak english, this is america. Did you hear that or one of your friends no, i hea itnd then to an africanamerican on our team he told then the n word. You heard him. Yes, sir. Did you . Yes, i heard him when he called him moses reynolds, the n word. He says thats a lie. Thats not. Its the honest truth right there and i wouldnt lie about this situation like just how bad its gotten like the truth needs to be told. What do you think should happen now . You cant just do that because its something you were told. But, you know, and im ready to face my consequences, i just ask that i am greatly sorry for this and i regret it greatly and i just hope that people can change their minds about us and that, you know, line up our consequences. Up until this moment you had a pretty good record in school. In the honor society. Yes, sir. What more do you want people to know about you and what happened . Well, this everyone sees me as this thug, you know, or gangster, you know, i did this because im a bad guy like thats not who i am. Underneath the helmet and the bads, you know, im really a great kid like, you know, school is my first priority. You know, i am aspiring to become anary rowspace engineer. And if you could speak with the referee, robert watts right now, what would you say to him. I would apologize for the mistake that i made. The boys now are still under investigati investigation. Both from the School District and maybe even a possible criminal investigation. Where does it stand right now. Right now everything is still up in the air. The county attorney has not yet decided what type of charges if any are going to be filed. The School District is still waiting to have our hearing but they also have the discretion to let these boys go back to school. Michael said he wants to pay the right consequences. What do you think is the appropriate punishment. I think they paid the appropriate punishment already. This he suffered three days of suspension, theyve been in alternative school for a week. Theyre excluded from playing football for the rest of the season. I think thats enough. Theyve apologized. They are weigh sorry. They didnt mean to do this. Why do you think youve been able to be here a great support system. My kevin is at home. My staff at the studio. I moisturize. You know, i know how to go to bed early. I know how to say no to a lot of minutia outside of my life. You know, people invite you to do thing, no, huhuh. Nope, going home. Yes. And you have to learn you have to know that no is a complete sentence. You can just say no and leave it at that. No has two syllables. Noo. You keep so incredibly active. Fashion week, youre a designer. What is your inspiration . Sounds funny to hear that, but, yeah, i do have a line of clothing on hsn and the next time i go back, well be september 26th and ill present my winter and holiday line. This is one of my dresses. Everything is under 100. And, yes, i am part of every bit of beating and fabric and every button and zipper like this zipper is not right. We need more. They show me 100 zippers and i dont like them until i see the 110th. Are you you that way about your show, as well . I have to say going there, it is like a fullon party. It is. Its like a club. Everyone is having so much fun. Sloppy but fun. I wouldnt say why do you say sloppy . Because, you know, i wipe my teeth, my wig. You know, we talk about mess but i love it, robin, im the host but im also an executive producer on the show. So, yes, you know, and then im the only one who walks out of the double doors so no matter what everyone puts in my head when i get out there, im going to do what i want. You tell it like it is. What is a phrase youre using. Say it like you mean it. What do you mean by that . Well, you know, im from jersey and, you know, we just get right in there. And, you know, its a line in my theme song, which has been there all seven seasons but now were pulling that line out and letting people now you say it like you mean it. You know, if your butt looks too big in those jeans and your girlfriend asks you say, yes, girl. Yeah. Are you trying to tell me something . Youre not wearing jeans. I was like are you trying to say robin in a very kind way. Robin, you know what, the seventh season also im a hallmark at types where i can now take just a little bit of time from my life to do other things im interested in. You did comedy this summer. I just came off a 16city comedy tour. It was so fun. Thank you, everybody, who came out. Dont you tell them what we talked about, okay. Oh, come on. Its not my new career but im stepping into and enjoying myself. Yet theres already a social media to get you to be the next james bond. I saw that the other day and laughed many times about it. You wouldnt try out . No, no. But fashion is a passion for beckham. The soccer star and his posh wife run the hugely successful Victoria Beckham fashion line. Whats it like being as a Business Partner with your wife . Its pretty easy actually. Weve been together for 18 years. We have been married for 16 years so you trust each others judgment and i think that that has worked for us. My wife, you know, shes a hard worker. Her dedication to what she does is incredible. Reporter and both are fiercely dedicated to their children. It must be hard parenting in the public spotlight. Yeah. All the scrutiny that you get all the time. It is. But, you know, we protect our kids from that. They have their social media campaigns. How do you balance all that . Is hard because our 16yearold brooklyn has like 4 million instagram followers. We control everything he posts. Everything that he does and its the same with our other kids. What are the beckham house rules. Im not so good at the rules with the kids especially with my little girl. My wife is definitely the strict, strict one in the house. Just the other day my daughter actually was in the kitchen and she turned around to my wife and was like can i have another ice cream and my wife was like no, you had one ice cream so she swivelled around and said, daddy, i love you so much, can i have another ice cream . And i was like, i looked athe victoria and she said she was like dont even think about it and i looked at her and was like, just one more. So i was in the doghouse for a few days. So sweet. It was shot two years ago and there wasnt distribution in place at the time yet the screenings have proved to be so incredible, the critics so enthusiastic, people talking about oscarworthy performances by yourself, by laura dern, by michael shannon. That has to feel very rewarding knowing that the subject matter is very intense and heavy. Ultimately i think, you know, storytelling is it has to be a reflection of where we are as a people even if its a historic film or, you know, a futuristic film. There has to be some kind of reflection of our struggle as human beings and i think this specific story just happens to be very a very immediate reflection of where we are. Its an incredible performance, remarkable role for you. I mentioned earlier that most people remember you, though, as peter parker as spiderman. How do you feel about handing over the spidey suit . I feel good. I feel really good. Im really exsighed for tom holland who will be playing the role. Hes just a proper brilliant deep arc and the real thing. Im excited become a fan since i was 3 years old.
