Well, it really could be one of the most daring feats in space exploration. The European Space agency is landing a tiny spacecraft on a comet 300 million miles from earth. The comet is moving at a pretty good clip. Here now abcs josh haskell. Everything is exciting about rosetta. Reporter a comset moving through space. An its tail, the rosetta probe belonging to the European Space agency. Its been on a tenyear mission to make contact with a comet in just hours. I remember reading about it when it launched, and the aroofl date was so far in the future. Now its so exciting that were actually getting there. Reporter if successful, this would be our first chance to really understand comets and learn what conditions were like when the earth first formed. The comet is 4. 5 billion years old. Nobody has ever tried to land on a body of this kind with material flowing away with gravity that changes all over the place. Its impossible to estimate the chances, but its risky. Its certainly not guaranteed but everybody for years has planned extraordinarily well to get the technology right. Reporter this morning the rosetta probe will launch a mini lander towards the comet. The trick will be for the lander to find a smooth area without rocks or a slope. Once contact is made, two harpoons will be fired into the comet, along with screws to secure the lander. A grand jury is deciding whether a Police Officer will face charges for shooting Michael Brown. The governor is planning for officers and troops to respond if they are needed once that decision is announced. Reporter boarding up. Thats how many Business Owners in ferguson are spending their time taking precautions ahead of a grand jury decision on whether to indict Police OfficerDarren Wilson who is white in the august 9th shooting death of Michael Brown who is black and unarmed. The 18yearolds body laid in the street for over four hours. We lost our son. Hes gone. Reporter in the days that followed, Peaceful Demonstrations often turned violent. Police donning riot gear fired tear gas and smoke canisters to disperse crowds after a small number of protesters there threw molotov cocktails and fired guns. Local businesses suffered. Some burned. Cars and trucks collided, flipped over and slid off snowcovered roads in duluth, minnesota. And a massive cleanup job under way across much of minnesota all the way into the Upper Peninsula of michigan. That early season storm dumped more than a foot of snow in northern wisconsin where shovels and snowblowers are working overtime. It was pretty big over her head and coming at me with this rock. Police were called but the panhandler and a male companion and the child got away. Tracking the license plate led to an apartment which the couple had apparently just let. They say its a late model and that apartment goes for 2,500 a month. You want to say its in good faith. You want to say theyre not out there with a scheme, right . A lot of homeless advocates say the best thing you can do for people is not give them handouts.
