We got new information into the newsroom right here. We are learning, according to the associated press, the Canadian Police there also say shots fired at a mall near the parliament. We continue to monitor those developments. Meanwhile, we also understand that they are warning anyone in that area to stay away from windows, roofs, and doors. Authorities search for a suspect and what they are now calling several shooting incidents. We want to show you some video from the scene taken by a reporter as was posted on youtube. Look at the video. You can see police with guns drawn. You can hear gunshots ringing out as well. Heres what we know up to this point. Authorities say this morning a gunman shot a canadian soldier outside the National War Memorial and entered parliament. People inside said they heard dozens of shots. Theres conflicting reports right now whether authorities are serving for one or multiple suspects. Also conflicting reports as to whether or not anyone might be in custody in connection with this. Anxiety, people in charlottesville holding their breath waiting for information from the virginia medical examiner to determine whether or not the remains found over the weekend are those of Hannah Graham. Just a few miles from where we are now. About 12 miles from downtown charlottesville, the search continues in that area where the remains were found on saturday. Cnn is reporting that investigators are looking into the possibility the area has been used as a dumping ground for other bodies in the past. Over the past several days authorities have said nothing about exactly what they are looking for out there. How long the search will take. And most importantly when well find out whether or not the remains are those of Hannah Graham. Graham went missing in charlottesville on september 13. Jesse matthew has been charged in her disappearance. In addition to being charged with rape and attempted murder in a 2005 case in fairfax city. Authorities also report a forensic link between matthew and morgan harrington. The 20yearold Virginia Tech student who disappeared in 2009. A nearby Nelson County authorities confirm that the Hannah Graham case has caused them to renew their search for Alexis Murphy who disappeared last year. Randy taylor was convicted in her murder earlr this year. But authorities want to be clear, the remains out here in al bermarl county, is not connected to the renewed search for murphy in Nelson County. An explosion and fire at a gas station this morning is under investigation in prince georges county. It happened at the shell gas station on washington boulevard in laurel. Authorities say a driver forgot to turn the nozzle after pumping gas and pulled away. That started the fire which engulled of the gas pump. The station owner heard an explosion and he ran to put out the flames and quickly hit the gas shutoff valve. Thats crazy. First time this ever happened. Been in this business a long time. It was very frightening. Luckily no one was hurt in that incident. There were travel troubles on 395 this morning. Several cars got flat tires between seminary and duke street. The divers say some overnight milling and paving work caused a rough patch. When they hit it their tires went flat. They say they didnt get much help on the scene there. The virginia d. O. T. Was out here and said theres things happen. Theres nothing we can do. Abc 7 reached out to vdot. Officials tell us a contractor is on the way to make repairs there. They are not sure why this happened, and they have apologized to the drivers who got those flat tires. The National Transportation and safety board released its findings into last years Train Derailment and chemical explosion in maryland. A trash truck and a c. S. X. Train collided causing a derailment that had an explosion. The truck driver was at fault has been determined. He admitted he was on the phone using a hands free device at the time of the crash. Additional precautions are being taken right now to prevent ebola from entering the country. This comes after several scares. One right here at Dulles International airport. The federal government is closing all air travel when it comes to ebola screening. You may remember last week an extra level of screening was implemented at a handful of airports around the country. Passengers arriving from west africa to these airports would have their temperatures taken. While officials at other airports were simply asked to keep an eye out for passengers with obvious symptoms of the virus. Right now, under the governments new rule, passengers arriving from liberia, sierra leone, and guinea must enter through the five airports doing those special screenings. This news comes after new reports revealed that four passengers who arrived at dulles from west africa last week showed symptoms that alarmed c. D. C. Officials. Federal investigators say three denver teens were caught possibly en route to join issel fighters. The three girls were of suedianese and somali descent. They are only 15, 16, and 17. They went missing last friday. Their passports were also missing of the authorities caught them in germany with plans to go to turkey and eventually syria. Sources tell abc news the teens were lured by videos calling for violent jihad. Syrias information minister two of the three jets seized by issel have been destroyed and the search is on for the third plane. U. S. Officials say they had no reports of the them fliling jets. The Washington Post remembering one of their own this afternoon with a front page tribute to former editor benjamin bradlee. He passed away tuesday at the age of 93.
