The neighbors thought they might have a shot of saving this land so they rallied together and raised more than 100,000. The money was added to a pot to help the city bid at auction. Right at noon the city and resident joe egil sparred for the property. The city claimed victory. Sold for 263,000 it shows a great willingness on the part of tacoma park residents to stand up for what they believe in and put the money where their mouth is. Now, were not going to have this kind of weather here, are we . No. Whats coming tomorrow is primarily rain. Some mix of snow and sleet and if theres any accumulation of a couple inches it will be north and west of the metro area and a little higher elevations. Monday morning, a little different story. A little clipper could bring snow to everywhere in the area here. Wet because its going to get white. Thats the way it works. Lets look at the armynavy country club in fairfax. Look this morning, foggy with snow on the fairways. Clear the skies a bit and let the sunshine even when its cold. Most areas have lost the snow cover except for northwest of the city. Beautiful sunset tonight. And now with partly cloudy skies, temperatures are climbing into the 30s in many spots. And that drop will continue. Still 44 at Reagan National and drop into the 20s and 30s for overnight. Officially 49 at Reagan National. Six degrees above average. 36 the morning low. Eight degrees above average due to the extensive cloud cover and fog. Record high tantalizing 76 degrees. Not any time in your future. Were going to be watching with great interest the stormwatch 7 weather team this storm system organizing in the mid south and the deep south along the gulf coast is expected to move east and up the coast. What is missing from making this a potentially big snowstorm is the fact theres not a lot of really cold air in place. We need that for the snow to develop. What were going to do is borderline temperatures here with a steady increase in clouds. This future cast model brings rain south and west of town. A little mix in the purplish area and a little snow north and west. As we go overnight, that pattern spreads up to the north and east with some moderate and maybe a few brief periods of heavy rain. Well get into the Daylight Hours of saturday and mostly its rain and a brief turnover to a mix before it ends and i think by the afternoon, the sun will try to break through. Well be in good shape into sunday before we have to deal with another system that clipper that i was talk to leon about here on monday morning and it may be colder then and we may have to deal with some snow for the beginning of the monday morning rush. So for tomorrow sunny start. Cloudy finish. 43 for a high. And then as we head through the day on saturday well deal with the snow and rain and the sleet and the mix. Especially saturday morning and midday. It should taper off and end with clearing in the afternoon. Highs to 43. Partly cloudy 44 sunday. And then monday morning, well before sunrise, the clipper could bring 40 chance of light snow or snow showers. Highs in the 30s. Then turning noticeably colder for the balance of next week. Leon and robert . All righty. Deflateriots is the word of the day. Love that name. A lot of people arent having it from tom brady today after he spoke at the podium. Right now, maryland is tied with wisconsin for first place in the big 10 at 51. Heres head coach mark turgen. They know this is a big game and a fun game and all road games are hard and but this one has a little added meaning with them being 41 and us being 51, its still early but our guys respect their players. And their program. So well be a hometown favorite made it back to d. C. Last night. Only thing he was there to destroy the wizards. But here was a bright spot. Closing seconds of the First Quarter and john wall is money from half court. Wiz up five. But the local kid took over in overtime. He finished with 34 in a baptism. You can say it leon. He tells me hell always love his home but he takes pride of wearing that o. K. C. Across his chest. You had to do that to him . Hey, thats my boy you got to you got to watch that a couple of times. All right. Weather coming in here. Nothing tonight though. Rather pleasant. Partly cloudy and cool. 24 to 32 degrees. Sunshine to start the day tomorrow. Clouds increase and it looks like tomorrow night will be rain and our wintry mix and that will be the story overnight into saturday morning. Clear out late saturday afternoon.
