Right now, police are searching the shooting happened early this morning near 18th and hadley. Police say an officer on patrol found the victim and tried to revive him but he died at the scene. Also new from overnight, a Police Chase Ends in a crash. Brown deer Police Say Officers spotted a stolen vehicle late last night. Police say that minivan sped away from officers causing a crash near 76th and hope and then finally rolling over at 84th and carmen. The 17yearold driver was arrested. No one was seriously hurt. Later today, were expecting to learn more about the Police Shooting that set off the unrest. A Police Officer shot and killed Sylville Smith on saturday, august 13th during a traffic stop. Investigators say that smith ran from the scene and was carrying a stolen gun. This happened near 44th and auer. An autopsy confirmed that smith the state department of justice is investigating the shooting. They have not released footage from the officers body camera yet. Right now, the focus in sherman park is on hope and healing. Last night, a group of local rappers gathered in the park to help children in the neighborhood. They performed and offered prayers for peace. The musicians handed out Free School Supplies to the kids. Also yesterday, a group of activists gathered in sherman park to speak out for justice.
