Back and forth, a good third quarter, got stopped a little bit late. Just stayed calm, and had trust in my guys, and everybody came through and ended up with a w. They played a freshman quarterback, Charlie Strong took a little bit of a risk with a guy who was his fourth play caller in three years. A young guy, he turned the offense over to him. Org] the sheriff is not above the sheldon strong words from a milwaukee judge regarding sheriff David Clarkes curfew on sherman park. A judge has settled the fight over a fence, and when the park will open and close. Adrienne an emergency ruling coming in favor of county executive chris abele. The judge says the fence needs to be removed. 12 news Ben Hutchison joins us live at sherman park. The fence is still up . Ben adrienne, that judge tonight saying it needs to be taken down as soon as possible. The park is back to normal hours, 6 00 a. M. 10 00 p. M. , closing just a short time ago. The day started with county executive abele here with workers to remove the fence. By this afternoon, sheriff david clarke had deputies replacing it. Sheriff clarke was also served paperwork that abeles office was seeking a temporary restraining order looking to end the early closures at sherman park, and for the fence to be taken down. Shortly before 8 00 tonight at a special hearing, judge David Hansher ruled in favor of the i understand for a short period of time the sheriff closing the park at night, but again, theres nothing in the record to indicate closing the park is serving any public good. I think its important that the public have free and unencumbered use and enjoyment of their property, public property, so were very happy with the judges decision. Ben there were no representatives from the Sheriffs Office in court. Wednesday to discuss further action. Still unclear is when the fence will be taken down. At sherman park, Ben Hutchison, wisn 12 news. Adrienne we have team coverage. 12 news Kent Wainscott was in sherman park as people hoped for word it would once again stay open until 10 00. Kent kids were roasting marshmallows and playing on the playground in sherman park this turned into a night of calm and relief for the people in this neighborhood. There is no state of emergency. The only thing you have here is families and kids in the community enjoying the parks. Kent the evening began with anxious moments inside the park, as the early curfew, which had been lifted earlier in the day, appeared to be reinstated. Are you prepared at 7 00 to come in and remove small children who have done nothing . We as men are going to stand up here and demand that they are not going to move. You know what, you guys have kent but then the situation suddenly began to change, as sheriffs deputies notified the crowd that the park would return to its normal hours. He has told us that its 10 00 tonight, until 10 00 and thats it. Kent and then another move that pleased park goers. Shortly after 7 30, the sheriffs squads that had filled this park began leaving. Good. Thats good, thats what they need to do. Thats what they need to do. They are returning it to 10 00, so thats great. Its great for us, its great for our youth. Two days of violence erupted after a Police Officer shot and killed Sylville Smith on august 13. People torched eight businesses. Looters ran through stores and two people got hurt. As of tonight, sherman park will stay open until 10 00 p. M. And the fencing will come down. Sheldon new on wisn 12 news, Milwaukee Police investigating a homicide. The medical examiner says they were called to the area of 20th and burleigh around 7 00 tonight. Police have not released any information about the victim or what led up to the shooting. Milwaukee police are also investigating a deadly crash. It happened near 31st and wisconsin late last night. Police say the driver of the car lost control and hit a pole and passengers to the ground. One of them died on the scene. Two others went to the hospital with serious injuries. Extra officers are on patrol this labor day weekend, making sure everyone gets to their destination safely. Local departments and the state patrol have teamed up to create special owi task forces across the state. Officers will be on the lookout for suspected drunk drivers, people speeding and for anyone not wearing seatbelts. According to the department of transportation, 390 people have died on wisconsin roads in 2016. Adrienne all eyes are on the weather this Holiday Weekend. Lindsey it depends on where you are.
