Deadly crash. It happened just before noon. At the 69hundred block of northeast 29th street in ankeny. Callers reported a single vehicle rollover accident. First responders found a car pinned between two trees. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A young child who was a passenger was taken to a des moines hospital. None of their names are being released at the hour. Two men are in jail after leading police on a high speed a chase overnight. Des Moines Police arrested 31 year old Zeferino Padilla and 33 year old Felipe Padilla. Both men are facing felon in possession of a firearm, felony attempted burglary as well as Traffic Violation charges. It all started when officers responded to an attempted burglary in the 600 block of park avenue just after midnight. When they got there, two men sped off in a car. Officers say the chase reached so they put down stop sticks. That caused the car to spin out in a ditch at 63rd and park. The two suspects then ran away into a nearby wooded area but Police Quickly caught up with them. the suspects tried to run from the car but not a wise move with the fresh snow, it was easy to follow their tracks we had them in custody in a matter of minutes. Police say although conditions were not ideal last night they continued the chase because the crime was so serious. Both men remain in the polk county jail. A des moines father is on a mission to make some changes after he says his son was brutally assaulted at school. On tuesday john brillant senior says his 14 year old son got into a fight in the bathroom at merill middle school. He says his son remains in the hospital with a severe concussion and injuries to his arm and leg.
