No one was injured but you can see heavy smoke coming from the kitchen area. Firefighters quickly evacuated the building. And put out the flames. Investigators are still trying it appears the kitchen was closed at the time. The store did reopen at 4 a m. A man is behind bars after setting fire to a garage on thanksgiving. Nicholas kollasch of cedar rapids was arrested on arson charges yesterday. Police say he started the fire inside a garage earlier that day. They say the flames spread to equipment. The equipment was reduced to melted metal and wires. Officials believe kollasch fought with the band before the fire. Police in fort dodge are investigating an Early Morning shooting. It happened around two am at sneakers eatery and pub. Thats in the 13hundred block of central avenue. When officers got there, they found 25yearold Damal Clayton in a back parking lot. He was shot several times. Clayton is now at unity Point Hospital in serious condition. 22year old torre mosley has been arrested for his involvement in the shooting. Hes charged with attempted murder as well as several other charges. The man accused of hitting and killing a popular metro cyclist is set to be in court soon. Jonathan leyva is charged with homicide by owi and driving with a suspended license. Police say his blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit when he hit biker wade franck along grand avenue. Franck was riding ride at the time. Leyva plead not guilty back in september. His trial is set to begin monday. Also in court monday. The former city clerk charged with torching a city hall to cover hundreds of thousands of dollars in theft. Dorothy dillinger is facing five counts of mail fraud. And one count of malicious use of fire. Investigators say she spent nearly 300 thousand dollars using a city credit card. Then torched city hall to cover it up in august of last year.
